Well my day has been made... I bought a new sprint phone last week and just discovered I can use clips of songs as ringtones. The quality isn't great, but it's not terrible either. It was a royal pain to get it done (alot of format conversions and uploads), but there are now a few feature ringtones on www.mbuzzy.com All thats there now is the beginning (week one) and blow it out. But when I finish my finals there will be plenty more. Anyway, you must have a sprint pcs vision phone to get them and there are no fees other than the access fee sprint charges for the download (aprox. $2)

Well that settles my question of what kind of new phone to get. Bye-Bye Cingular. Sucked anyway.

Yeah, my phone is very old and boring, but it does what it needs to do so I'm not going to shell out the money to get a new one even though I would love to have a cool ringtone.

I would love to havea nice more high tech looking phone.. possible one that flips open an looks all compact and small. but considering I hardly even use the one I have now.. I'll probably get a new one only if this one is stolen(yeah right) or if it gets broken or something like that.

That's pretty friggin awesome. I shopped for a cell phone this weekend and I've decided to buy a new Sprint Vision phone tomorrow. I'm totally down for a Features ringtone. Do I have to have the extra service plan for that to work, or just a capable phone?

By the way, if anyone would like to share pros and cons of cell phone plans, I'm all ears. Like I said, I'll probably be getting Sprint PCS free and clear soon, but I'm still open to input.

Sprint can get pretty complicated if you let them... I was able to get a $50 credit on my bill to upgrade my phone. If you're a new sprint customer, it's a $100 rebate... or at least it was last week. Which phone are you getting? I got THIS ONE.

So far i've loved it, but you can also get one with a built in camera for only $99 (new customers only) Also, I'm 90% sure they are charging an activation fee for their new customers as well.

As far the plan goes, I have a basic free and clear plan. $45 for 500 anytime and unlimited nights and weekends. You can get a vision plan for a little more and they never charge you for using the internet. I would get a sprint or radio shack representative to explain this to you in detail. I do know that you can get the ringers/games/screensavers from the www. with both plans. It will just cost a little more without the vision plan. Hope this helps.

It helps somewhat. I dont really need bells an whistles, but a Features ringtone might be pretty cool. Oh, and I plan on getting this one.

TF isn't into cell phones either for his own reasons, which is understandable. But, my friends, I live by my cell phone. My roommate and I have our own and no apartment phone (land line). This way, we don't have to fight about the bill, and we are each responsible for how much we run our mouths.
I have Suncom service...the Unplan. But, when I move back home, I have considered Sprint PCS, too. I've heard great things from friends of mine, and I love the phones. Their deals aren't all that bad either. Plus, if they cover the town I'm from, I'm in business. With Suncom, my phone roams when I get into Erwin's city limits. That's how you know you're from a small town.

Flooded cars and other problems have proven why Token and I need cell phones. It will probably happen soon. I'll go to and look at Sprint first. Thanks for the advice.

If I get Sprint PCS, I can get my buddy a $20 credit on his Sprint PCS bill for referring me. You should consider the same if you know anyone with Sprint PCS.

I have been very hesitant to get a cell phone, but recent events have proved to me that they can be very helpful indeed. I woke up this morning only to find that my car had A FOOT OF STANDING WATER IN IT . This royally sucked. Since I had no power for 2 hours, I had to use my elderly neighbor's non-electric phone to call and get a ride to work. Geez, what a hassle. I imagine that a good cellular phone will be one of YDDD's and my first purchases as a married couple. Thanks, all, for the helpful suggestions.

Two of my friends happen to be of Korean decent (which I understand is not foolproof evidence of whether or not one is prejudiced) and one happens to be one of the biggest fans of the Features I know. I had a hunch of who you were before you mentioned the Asian girls thing. Not that you care, but I think it was based on some comments about WRVU and Slow Bar (a bar that I'm told has good relations with WRVU). I'm not really sure what the big deal is. To tell you the truth, I usually don't see that many Asians at Features shows (which is too bad ). I was just trying to get to know who people were and I thought I knew you, so I asked (privately to protect your annonymity, by the way).

I appreciate that we filter out racial slurs but not profanity. We need to be able to let the shit hit the fucking fan when we need, but that's no reason to start using racial slurs in this environment.

I got circus for my Verizon phone now... You can actually trick them into playing mp3s so it sounds pretty good.

you can buy it from sprintpcs.com or through the browser on your sprint phone. i'm not sure if they have any other songs, i'm guessing not but i didn't really look that hard cause i got excited to see this one and bought it without any further investigation. the speaker on my phone's not that great though so it sounds kinda scratchy i don't really care, i'm using it anyway.
