Don't know if anyone has noticed, but The Beginning EP on the Fierce Panda website is listed as sold out! Good news since all of these purchases can't just be stateside fans.

I don't think it's a limited edition though so I'm sure it will be reprinted. That's the whole point of capitalism. Supply and demand. If something sells out, then there is bound to be more demand for that thing. That's what drives me crazy though about so many releases that most people will never get ahold of because they've gone out of print. The Radiohead Drill EP sells for $300-400 dollars on eBay. You'd think that someone would say.."Hey, we could reprint this and make money."

That would suck, though. Collecting it is half the fun.

I completely disagree with you there. I mean, I want Drill because I'm a completeist nut and an audio quality snob and I want to have Stupid Car in cd quality to listen to at my own convenience. This doesn't mean I want to pay $400 to do it. It has nothing to do with collecting, it has everything to do with music, at least for me.

Well, you've got an excellent point there, but I enjoy chasing down CDs, too. $400 is a little bit much, but then again you could download quality MP3s of the songs anyway.

But yeah, anything above $100 for one CD is insane.

Agreed. As I stated already, I'm an audio quality snob, and I have mp3s of the songs. I just want something uncompressed. Radiohead really needs to release an early B-sides compilation.

I don't think MP3 quality is that bad. Sure, WAVs are far superior, but far larger as well, a serious concern for anyone who uses an iPod like myself. (Old 5 gigger, but as soon as I get a 40 GB model (whenever that is) I'll have no worries about size)

Well, I find AAC to be far superior to mp3, so that's an option, but even then, you can't find AACs of things like the Drill EP, so you end up recompressing your mp3s... no good. I certainly don't mind compressed music for portables like an iPod, but even then, it would be nice to have a good reference source from which to make your own compressed media. AAC at 160 sounds pretty good on headphones when you're out and about, but when I come home, I'd love to hear it on cd on my stereo.

And I think MP3s DO sound that bad. But that's me.

Drill is also on vinyl which I think sounds better than compact disc on the right system. A Radiohead B-sides set. That would probably encompass about 10 cds.

I wonder if the Features will ever put out a "B-sides" set, or rather, every previous aborted studio attempt that has been tried. I'd love to get a hold of the complete Mahaffey sessions.

right now i just want to see the full length come out. seeing as most former recordings are available on the internet (or on bootleg copies and whatnot).... and some of that stuff doesn't really represent what the band is about right now, i doubt any of it will see an "official" light of day.

Doubtful. They aborted these sessions because they didn't like them. Spongebath seemed ready to release them, and it was the band that pulled the plug, not Spongebath. They probably don't like that we have them at all, but I imagine can understand that we want to have something to listen to.
