I was recommended the new Kings of Convenience CD today by Amazon because I liked "The Beginning". I learned that purchasers of "The Beginning" also bought:

Chutes Too Narrow ~ The Shins
On the Speakers [EP] ~ On the Speakers
Dear Catastrophe Waitress ~ Belle & Sebastian
Bows & Arrows ~ Walkmen
Don't Make Things ~ The Pleased
In Rock ~ Minus 5
The Bronx ~ The Bronx
Cellar Door ~ John Vanderslice

Sometimes scary new marketing strategies can be fun!

That list sounds pretty accurate, Lauren. People around here always seem to be fellating the Walkmen and the Shins. The Shins deserve it.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I heartily agree with that. I would fellate The Shins any day. The Walkmen...um, I like one song. The rest of it kind of bores me.

I always heart Belle & Sebastain.
That's so NA.

I'm there with you. "We've Been Had" and "The Rat" are good songs, but the rest that I've heard hasn't really stuck with me.

Did you also notice that both albums are available as a set for a discounted price? Rad.

I was actually discussing this topic with my sister the other day. I think they're a really good band, and they were really good live. But, I just never really care to listen to them on my own. I don't think they're boring, though. I enjoy listening to them when other people are playing the CD (like Ray Davies and Havesomesoma), and I like almost all of their songs, but I never crave them or anything. It's kind of strange because I think they're really good, but I'm just not crazy about them for some reason. I can't really put it into words, as this long paragraph shows.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.
