I hope the features come over for glastonbury. I reckon when their album is released in the uk they will get pretty big.

Yeah, I hope they come over for a few festivals this year too. Im going to leeds hopefully but apparently they played there last year, so its not that likely that they'll play again this year. sad.gif
Did anyone see them at leeds last year?

I agree that The Features will definately get bigger now that their album has been released. But not too big... we dont want them going too mainstream now do we?! I want to keep them as my little music secret! hee hee biggrin.gif

I hope you see the irony in the fact that you are in the UK saying this about a band from BFE, TN.

Yeah, i see your point, but i mean plastered all over the place. There is a difference between being understatedly known and mainstream smile.gif

V seems to be catering for more smaller bands, they had a new tent last year, which hosted the likes of Hope of the States, so I reckon the Features could play there. I doubt Id go though as the headliners confirmed so far are crap- Scissor Sisters and Snow Patrol (last year it was Pixies, Muse and The Strokes- much better). Just heard Franz Ferdinand have just been added to the bill- that makes it a whole lot better!

Don't think this should go in this section of the board but anyway, is it me or am I the only one who detests all things Franz Ferdinand? (obviously except for the wicked riff in Take Me Out, the only thing that was good that they have made or ever will make, and they probably nicked that anyway)

It'd be awesome to see The Features at Glastonbury. It can increase record sales by a ludicrous amount. I remember seeing Damien Rice there, and the following week his record sales increased by 1000%

Mmmm, Glastonbury. I've been to the last six in a row. Great, great place.
...and this ain't one of them...

First of all sorry if I started this post in the wrong section. I totally agree about Franz Ferdinand I find them very irritating.
Regarding Glastonbury I emailed The Features and they replied saying they would find out if they are at Glastonbury this week. So lets hope they are I only saw them supporting Kings of Leon and loved them. Top band.

Man, a year ago I would have totally agreed- I even included them on a "Bands that Suck" mix for my friend. But something has changed & I've caved to them. I think because one can dance to their music. Or because I live in such a musical wasteland of a town that I've forgotten what is truly innovative and/or good. I won't defend them because I know all about their flaws. But the catchiness....

Now, I'll grant you that Snow Patrol suck a big one. XMU is in love with them & I'm constantly having to switch stations to avoid hearing them. Ugh.

I thoroughly enjoy Franz Ferdinand and don't really see anything wrong with them at all.

Not adding anything new to the conversation.

If catchy-ness is a judge of good music then aga doo (dunno if you got this song over there) must be the greatest song on earth. As for franz, their lyrics, pants live performances and shitty image sum up how much they are rubbish, for me anyway. smile.gif

I have to agree that Franz aren't a great live band. I saw them in 2003 supporting Hot Hot Heat, who completely blew them away. I think Franz's debut is a decent record though, there could be/is far worse music recieving mass approval.

Well, I have to say that I prefer their album to Hot Hot Heat's. Can't comment on live performances, though, since I've seen neither live.

I think the Franz Ferdinand album is great.

I have nothing else important to add.
That's so NA.

i concur... yes it's popular, but it's a pretty damn good record.

and features at glastonbury would be insane. and i would covet the english and their wonderful summer music festivals that much more.

and i've not heard enough snow patrol to really care, but reindeer section is very nice. (same singer)
