TOPIC: High on Rose show?
Posted  Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 8:31 PM
Post 1 of 16
Does anyone know the age limit for that show? My friends and I are driving from Athens to see that show...we'd rather see the show in person than outside in the cold. We'll be driving thru Chatt Town...anyone want a ride?
Why would you do that?

Yes, and it worked very well. However, I didn't email the Slow Bar. I emailed Beulah, because Grimey is too stuck on himself to help us little kiddies out. Maybe the people at High On Rose will have mercy for those sub-21s that want to drive three hours for the show. Surely they have markers at that place. All they have to do is put some X's on your hands or something. If they can't do something that easy, then shame on them.

i would not waste the time to drive up to high on rose to see if you can get in or not. they id pretty hard.
we get youngsters in by using the "they are with the band" method. so i suggest emailing the features.

well, i sent an extremely polite (and well punctuated) e-mail to them only to find it resent to me by the online postmaster, so i decided to give them a call. it is a 21 and up show no exceptions. i asked if me and some friends bought $100 in food if we could get a special band or mark. he said that the 21 rule was lexington law and that he was sorry. hope some of you have better luck...or a better method smile.gif

i wonder if i could count as a band member if i offered to be their chauffer?

good luck, I'd bet you need some kind of commercial driving training to pilot grey beard.

Let's raze Lexington! I shall smite them and leave their city a smoking ruin.

Or I could just internalize my anger and become a bitter man, read Bukowsky for inspiration, and stop shaving. It's always good to stop shaving when dealing with such matters.

Did you guys check out the story of those paintings on the RT DVD special features? I appreciate the art even more after hearing the background.

Yeah...it's rather funny/frightening that someone came up with an idea to do that. They fascinated Wes Anderson so much that he actually owns a couple of the paintings himself.

Now that I think about it, these paintings remind me of that movie "City Limits" that MST3K viewed/laughed at once. It was supposed to be about futuristic gangs (who wore weird head pieces like these guys and rode on motorcycles), but it was so unforgivingly 80's that even James Earl Jones, Rae Dawn Chong, or Kim Catrall could not save it.
