Now that I am a teacher of youngsters, it is much less likely that I will attend an all-ages show, especially, because of location and proximity, one at Next Generation. I'm not opposed to all ages shows, but I doubt I'll participate if it's in Nashville.

I'd like to see another Red Rose Show personally. I like that place.

Damn straight. I wish I was 19 again.

Concerning 12th&Porter: I'd like to open the floor for ANYONE to share a story about a time that they've been turned away from 12th&P for being under 21...
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I got turned away from there once. Personally, I hate 21+ venues, even though I'm 24. I am not a big fan of the 21+ bar scene. Especially in music row Nashville! Nashville needs an all ages 1000-1500 capacity performance hall. That would be a great place for bands like the features to play and expand their local fanbase---and it would help bring in some acts who normally would not play here (i.e. Sonic Youth, Breeders, Queens of the stone age).

My very first post back in February was about this. I agree that all ages is the way to go if bands really want to increase their fan base. My experience in Nashville over the past year have weakened this argument some. The 21+ people here seem much better about supporting rock bands and other non-booty-shaking dance club things. However, the kids are still the ones who really love the rock (and are more likely to buy what you tell them to, heh heh).

I would definitely be down for an all-ages show since I have turned some under 18 people onto the Features. But turning 18 and then being able to see the Features on a regular basis was kinda like the birthday present that keeps on giving. I do agree that there should be a 1000+ all ages venue in Nashville.

before the advent of 21, i was never turned down at 12th & porter. maybe it's machavelian-like skillz.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.
