Sorry guys, but I was just informed the Johnson City show has been cancelled. This is not a decision by the Features, by the way. Sorry for the news...

I still don't think Carligula is going to apologize to stopforme, but you never know.

That's what you were referring to, right?

Don't you hate it when people try so hard to be the center of attention? Pathetic.

You know, this shit always happens to me. Or, maybe I'm just self-centered enough to believe that it does. Either way it's fine. I can see them in Asheville on Friday night. That one IS still on, right?

Oh, and fuck you, Keith. rolleyes.gif

Yes, you're prize is outside. Look everywhere. It might be in you're neighbor's back yard or some stranger's car. But it's out there. Trust me.

I think it was cancelled so they could play St. Louis. (without the features) I was wondering why they were playing at the Disc Exchange today at 6 if they had a show in JC...
I am sooo sorry Steph-but at least Asheville is only 45 minutes away!!!! I will see you there!!!

Mindylieu is probably right. I just know the decision was made by Jump. That's all the info I received from the Man.

I would assume Jump are tired of playing with a band that makes them look bad by comparison. You know touring has to be hard enough without going on after badasses every other night.

the troll brings up a good point, sorta.
after seeing Jump at the Exit/In a couple weeks ago...
i dont know, all of those guys are excellent musicians and songwriters in their own niche as are the features.
fans of good music in general will like both of the bands.
but i cant see a hardcore features fan or a hardcore jump fan liking both of them...
im really happy they are getting all of these new fans but maybe there could have been a better choice than Jump to stick the features with.

that sucked for me too....I had been planning to go to this show since they posted it on the site. I live in Elizabethton and we have no car and cant make it to the other shows. My wife was really looking forward to seeing them for her first time (wouldve been my third) as well as the other people I had "lined up" to go to this show.....hope they found out and didnt pay to get in. Oh well.....I think whenever my band Randy Jane has a show that gets cancelled, if at all possible, Ill just go play in the parking lot so my fans can still see me....and for free too. Sucks, oh well.....R.J.
Im not the one that should have to be the bird here!

"hardcore" Jump fans are the most ecletic people you'll probably ever meet. As someone who has dealt with nearly 8 years of openers, I can really only say I've hated 2. Shows with only one type of music are so boring. They are two totally different styles, but it's not like we haven't dealt with it before with flying colors. throw a few back and enjoy the act you didn't really come to see. shit you paid for it anyway.

I agree with a lot of what you said actually. Ideally, in a situation like this, a symbiotic relationship is formed between the two bands. One band gets exposed to the others' fanbase and vice versa. The more different the two bands are the more likely new fans will be made, because they are less likely to have heard the band they didn't come to see. I also agree that we Features fans should respect Jump for touring with the Features, just as, in a few years, Jump fans should respect the Features for letting them open for them.

OK...apparently the JC thing was some made up show because I found a Loafer paper in JC that had someone else scheduled for that night (one of my friends, actually), and the paper was printed up before they even knew the show was to be cancelled. Also, Jump management supposedly had no idea there was a JC show. Jump played the Disc Exchange on Thursday, but the Disc Exchange said they would play JC later-whatever later means...I don't know what the hell happened. They didn't play St. Louis-that is later this month. (after the features go to the UK)

I just wish they had been able to play.
