The Knoxville show on March 8th was killer. It'd been over year since I'd seen The Features and I don't want to wait that long again. I don't know what the street team status is for JC, but we need to drum up some fans in Johnson City so the guys will play a show here. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to the band for coming to Knoxville it was awesome, can't wait till you come back again.

Man, a year without the features?? how sad. I hate when I have to wait a month. I thought that took forever. since SxSW is so far away and the show in Atlanta is 21+, I won't be seeing them until who knows when sad.gif . I talked to Matt about them playing more in Athens cos I think they could really make it big here. I hope they make it big, but I know as soon as that starts happening I'll progressively see them less and less. So I'm savoring and treasuring every show I can see. I'm so glad I got to see the last show. It's wonderful to see them when they're having a lot of fun. Sigh.. that show was so good...
Why would you do that?

amen brother. i'm trying to get them into hideaway, but it's just kind of hard for them to play five hours away for a couple hundered bucks. hopefully it will happen within the year though
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

you could come up to nashville for that show at vandy with spoon....

and this might have already been discussed earlier so i apologize if it has...how did you hear about the features? i don't know if their athens show with pere ubu attracted any new fans; i think about 10 people watched the features that night.

I'm pretty sure Buckley and I both saw The Features for the first time at the Caledonia Lounge in Athens where they opened up for Bowl of Fire (which was mighty sad since we couldn't get them to play anything from thrills). Am I right that I saw you there, Buckley?
You can do the wiki if you want to,
you can leave your friends behind.

Let me know if this happens (if it hasn't been posted on this site and we haven't run into each other). I am all about promoting that show.

Yeah...I was there studying for my philosophy test, going over Berkeley, Locke and Hume, and within a few seconds of "stark white stork approaching" I was hooked. No one was there, and it was a very small little bar, in fact, I was sitting next to all of their gear piled up by the wall near the stage. However, despite the older, more "sophisticated" athenian crowd, many got into them. A few shook Matt's hand and said they enjoyed the set. I was going to, but I got too nervous when he came over to get his stuff next to me. That was the last time I was ever able to sit down and see the features. When i saw them at the attic the next time, it was a completely different atmosphere.
Why would you do that?

Yeah...I talked to Andrew Bird before that show. He was really nice. I wish he had played something from "Thrills," cos while I like his other stuff, "Thrills" is so entertaining, and I'd love to hear what it sounds like live. Chopped Liver yelled out "Play something from Thrills!" at that concert, and so he started going into the violin part on "i bear no grudge.." but then he stopped and said, "I need to re-learn that for Halloween," and then, "I was listening to 'thrills' for the first time in the last few years and it made me really sad." I don't know if that was b/c those were good times, or if he didn't like it, but in my opinion, it's my favorite of all his stuff.
