I left off "Million Ways" and "...Meant To Be" because they are available on other CDs now.

Which is the worst, your least favorite, and why?

My vote is for "Leave it all Behind," because it just doesn't sound right (especially at the beginning) even though I really like the song live.
That's so NA.

situation gone bad is a very flip flop kind of song for me...i feel very uncertain about the verse and then the chorus comes on, full strength...
make up your mind, situation gone bad!!!

I voted for Blow It Out, not because of the song, but because the earlier Krampf recording of it was better.

Oops, that was me. I hope she agrees with me.

i, too, voted for leave it all behind. the demo version was much better with toned-down keyboards. matt's singing seems to be better too. his shaky "i'm about to have a breakdown" tone is awesome on most every other song, but it should be softer for leave it all behind.

i stand by my belief that the first version of something is usually the best. basically i like leave it all behind, blow it out, exorcising demons the way they were before exhibit a.

circus, on the other hand, fuckin' rocks.

The breakdown on Exorcising Demons blows on Exhibit A.

I wish Exorcising Demons had the surf/ventures-style guitar at the beginning like when they play it live.

And did they change the lyrics a bit on the prechorus? Mahaffey = "It sounds good and everything, even though it kinda stings," whereas Exhibit A = "Something good in everything, even though it kinda stings." I can't decide which I like better, but I think I'm leaning towards Mahaffey...although I'm sure the harmonies are biasing my opinion.

I really don't hear too huge a difference between Exhibit A and Mahaffey "Exorcising" as far as performance goes. I think it just doesn't mesh as well with the Exhibit production-style in comparison to the M version, excepting, of course, the aforementioned lamentable loss of vocal harmony (although it would still sound awkward).

Speaking of redone Mahaffey tracks, I really need to get that See You Thru b-side.

I think the lyric has always been "Something good in everything," but I will admit that it sometimes (even to this day) sounds as if he says, "Sounds good..."

Sorry to be emo, but "Idea" was "our song" and there is no "us" anymore, so bad associations and all that shit. And frankly, I don't like the song that much anyway, especially the changes they made to it on the verses when the bass is playing the 1 the whole time. Sorry Roger. I still think you're awesome. I think the idea (no pun intended) of the song is pretty cool though.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Um, I don't think this should be anyone's song unless they've been together for at least 3 or 4 years. I don't see this as a budding-romance type song as much as a hey-let's-get-married-and-stay-together-until-we-die type song. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

I'm sorry. I'll refer to your book of dating rules next time. After a year or so, one starts thinking about the future, but I'll try to remember that it doesn't cease to be meaningless until year 3. Thanks, Carl.

This poll sucks. Why can't I vote for TWIMTB? Now that song sucks! I guess I'll just settle with "Blow it Out."

Like I said, I didn't include that in "...Million Ways" because you can get them on "The Beginning" and the "...Million Ways" single, and I think of them more as "teasers" for the album, especially since they both had videos.
That's so NA.

I definitely think the older version of Exorcising Demons was waaay better than the album version. I really miss the walking bass part in the verse of the old version... in the new version it just hangs until the chorus comes in... I don't like it at all. Plus the new version of Leave it all Behind kinda blows compared to the old one. That is the big weak spot on the album to me, those two songs just glare out at me as being badly produced. As a whole, though, the album was well produced.

okay, I know I just said that I like the re-working of "Blow it out" the best in another thread, but it's also my least favorite track. Like most of ya'll have said, the originals are better, but I've always thought that "Blow it out" sucked. However, out of all the songs that were re-made that shouldn't have been, "Blow it out" is the most improved.

So to recap, though Blow It Out wins the award for most improved remake, it also wins suckiest song.

Make sense?
