also, i've been meaning to ask you this, but how did you decide which songs would be on the upcoming cd? I mean, songs like "leave it all behind", "circus", and"growing old" will obviously be on the new cd, but why did you include older songs like "buffalo head" that have already been recorded? Anyway, i guess this as a good a time as any to say that your site is incredible and has been used quite often by myself. It'd be cool if they would at least put a link to it on this site, I can't even begin to count the amount of times i've needed it for lyrics...
The songs that I had labelled as being on the upcoming album need to be updated to reflect the fact that they are in fact the sessions with Smee's dad. Which tracks were labelled as such were the ones reported by smee herself as having been recorded, in a post that I haven't got a link to. She had reported that 5/4 (still unknown to my knowledge), Blow It Out, Bring on the Night, Buffalo Head, Exorcising Demons, Growing Old, Leave It All Behind, See You Through, and Someway, Somehow had been recorded in the now-famous sessions. To date, the general community has only heard the recordings of Buffalo Head, Blow It Out, Bring on the Night, Someway, Somehow, and Leave It All Behind from these sessions. The others may or may not have been heard by Ray Davies in the Red Rose. When I update the site (and to all of you crazy been-out-of-school-for-a-month mtsu kids, I JUST finished class last Friday and will be doing the much needed update soon; I'm now in Chattanooga til Monday) I'll change things, and find out exactly what was on the disc that Ray heard. In any case, it is old info, but from smee, so taken to be reliable.
The 3-song demo tape reportedly predates The Features EP, and as such would include pre Features EP Armani Suede and pre Mississippi Album Your Smile, the old Your Smile being the gem of the bunch for me (in case the kind person who gave us Standing By feels like sharing some more... great tape to mp3 conversion, by the way).
And finally, thanks for the kind words regarding the site. It'll be getting the updates it needs soon, along with some of the things I've long wanted to do, like album pages. Also, the lyric pages are often not to be trusted (well, Stagecoach anyway... and should the lyrics page reflect only the most current version?), and are just a better organized version of lyrics gleaned from this board, so credit is due more to the fine posters here.
