TOPIC: Mahaffey Sessions or MP3 Server

I know this is probably a stupid question and it might be on the board somewhere (I tried searching several different things but didn't get very far). Bascially, is there a site or ftp server that is currently hosting the Mahffey Sessions and if so can someone clue me in as to how to get there? Please let me know, I've been wanting to hear them for a while (and I have greatly enjoyed the streams on the site). Thanks.

Hearing the streams I believe it's the best session they've ever had. Haven't scored a full copy of it yet, though, so I can't help you...

Heresy, most would say.

I think they sound tasty, but NOT like the band I love to go see when I'm home... certainly not the Beginning or Krampf sessions.... those really feel like The Features.

You may like grandma's yard gnomes, but I've seen Rock City. Remember it.

There is no mp3 or ftp site anymore. This site's player includes some of the Mahaffey sessions.

I think the recordings are good because the songs are some of the strongest that the Features have ever written.

On the subject of the Mahaffey Sessions, I was searching them on this board to find the tracklist when I read someone's reference to Matt Mahaffey's own postings on this board about those recordings. I couldn't find the topic myself so I looked him up on the Member List, and sure enough...

matt mahaffey

Unfortunately, looking at "all posts by this member," the topic he spoke on has been deleted. sad.gif Anyone remember what he said? I'm curious to know what he thinks about the session because their quality is so largely disputed by the fans.

Yes, I did a search a while back and found a few threads like this. The title of thread and the information were gone.

You can read it here.

I have nothing positive to contribute to this thread other than I was struck by the thought that The Mahaffey Sessions would be a really neat name for a band. Thank you for your time.
That's so NA.

Hahahah, that actually does have a ring to it.

Thanks YDDD, I didn't know there was any way to access those topicless threads. Strange glitch...

When you search and find any of these strange threads with no title, posts, or anything, the only open link is Last Post By: Click on it, and it will still take you to the last post of the thread.

You would think that someone would be able to burn you a copy. I do have a CD-R of the songs burned from the mp3s that were once online.
I would consider doing a blanks and postage deal with someone, but have little experience in it.
I found this link, http://www.mindspring.com/~lcooksey/boots/b-and-p.html but I don't know how much postage should be attached to the SASE.

If anyone wants to keep the songs from the player on the front page all you have to do is copy them from your "temporary internet items" folder. Look for songtitle.swf. These SWFs are of course pretty low quality but if you can't get the tracks anywhere else you can at least have them to hear. There's a program called MagicSWFtoAVI that will convert these to WAV files as well.

Personally, I love the 10 songs that I've heard from "The Mahaffey Sessions"; if more were recorded there, I don't know... I only know about these ten:

33 1/3
Armani Suede
Darkroom
Exorcising Demons
Jurley
Kari-Ann
Oh My Love
Paid To Think
See You Through
Serious

Of those ten, 33 1/3 is probably my personal favorite, though I love them all. And what's more, I've played selections from "Mahaffey" for various friends, and I have yet to have any of them not like it.
