Does anyone have any word on the order of bands for the night?

I personally hope that the Features and De Novo Dahl play good hour-long sets somewhere in the middle. That'll be worth $20 to me.

And who all is planning on going?

I really, really want to go but if I do, it'll most likely be alone, which sucks. Plus I have two TV shows to produce by Thursday and Saturday, so time at a Features concert is valubale time...oy...dilemma.

I'll be there, so you won't be alone, my friend.

I'm not going to be able to make it now. I have too much on my plate...sadly.

Just to elt everyone know, It's actually a suggested donation of $20.

i know it's late, but anything you have to donate money-wise will get you in.

What a great tidbit of info that SHOULD have been posted with the original announcement. I dunno why Mercy Lounge didn't have it as a suggestion on their site . . . I wouldn't mind paying $20 normally to see DND and The Features, but I will say that it kept me from going tonight.

Thanks for the heads up foldsfan... it was very nice of you to take the time and post this.

I assumed it was a last-minute decision based on the complaints that Mercy Lounge got.

There was no one there (as in maybe 60 people in the Ballroom). It was nice to have plenty of room to rock out the Features and DND's sets. It was great.

However, there was no "Hold (You Alone)" and so the night was not complete.

I couldn't help but wonder if the event would've been more successful if they'd cut the cover in half. I think that might have doubled the attendance.

I almost felt bad for the bands. They put a lot of effort into this thing, but nobody showed up.

I wonder if anyone put any effort into promoting it, though. When you get a bunch of bands to devote their time, you probably can't expect them to use many resources to promote the show.

Yeah, so I walk up to the door with all of $13 in my pocket, ready to give all...the girl told me it was $20. I said I heard that was the "suggested donation" and we were to give what we could. She said it was $20. So I go to an ATM and get her 7 more dollars. I then later learn that others were getting in and paying less.

If it's not all 100% going to charity, I'm suing for my $7.
That's so NA.

I think you misunderstand. I wasn't saying the bands should promote the show-- in fact, I was saying the opposite. If a band plays for free, the organizers should be in charge of promotion. They should donate their time just like the bands. I don't know the details, but it seems to me that someone said, "Hey, we should call all our friends/contacts and put on a show to raise money for hurricane victims. If we get enough great bands, a ton of people will show up and it'll be awesome!."

Yes, it's great that these folks wanted to take part in a very chariatable event-- and I applaud them for that-- but if you aren't going to follow through, it's disrespectful to the bands that trust they'll be taking part in a wel--organized event.
