sweet!!! MTSU has finally got something decent going on.

What's the occasion for a Features show at MTSU? Any word on who will be playing with them?

I'm going to assume the MTSU & Belmont shows are outside and all ages. And if so that ROCKS!

I don't know about Belmont, but "Yes" for MTSU. The occasion is students are constantly bitching no good music comes to campus. The Features are obviously good. I expect a very large attendance for this show, it will be on the knoll behind the KUC.

I'll definitely be seeing the shows at 12th and Porter and Belmont. Awesome.

By the way, good idea to subtitle the thread "sucks for free" to get a lot of interest.

I'm kind of a genius like that. Plus the show is, you know, free.

Unless something terrible happens at the last minute, I'm very happy & excited about this.

I wonder where on the Belmont campus this will happen?

MTSU's concert department puts on free shows on the "knoll" outside of the KUC on campus during the month of April as an end of the year celebration sort of thing.

unfortunately our campus is dry. i recommend any of the nearby drinking establishments for getting pre-show shitty.

Damon, we should totally walk to the show, stopping at Totally Carl's along the way, not unlike the football game.

im hoping its not in the new "curb cafe" where students put on accoustic shows on sunday nights for xtians. they also serve sedexo mexican, pizza, and burgers, in case you need a burrito to enjoy yourself [and i know someone who does].

Seriously. And MPAC would be a bad idea too. I think the only good option would be to have it outside. It seems like I remember Belmont having had outdoor shows before in that little courtyard area near the bell tower. Maybe Jump Little Children or something like that? Am I dreaming? Keith, you know everything about Belmont...

I don't know, I guess MPAC could be ok if they hired professional sound people and really promoted the show at Belmont. MPAC just usually sounds like ass, but I think it's because they let the Music Business kids run the sound. And it is a pretty big venue for them, but I think with enough promotion (and definitely if convo credit was offered!) it would fill up.

Anyway, I would think they'd do it outside, weather permitting. I've seen a few bands playing out there.

It is quite possible that I will be eating barbeque chicken and drinking natty ice in his front yard that day.

i have insider information that it will probably be Jump, Little Children at the Belmont show with a couple other exciting bands too!
time will tell!

Since the Features will most likely be going on quite early in the evening at the MTSU show, I think there should be some sort of MB action afterwards. Bowling, IHOP, pillaging, something. I think that most of us are more...comfortable...with most of us, more so than the DitD attempted meet-and-greet two summers ago. I dunno, just an idear.

Ahh, the DitD meet and great. What memories. I've definitely missed seeing you all at shows, and I look forward to whatever hanging out action I can partake of, pre or post show.

the mtsu show should be excellent indeed. it will be my first time back to campus since last semester. a good warmup for summer school.

The shows part of the site says this show's 18+. It's not, is it?

Not that I know of. It's outside, too. Just be careful with parking, you'll get a ticket if you park on campus without a permit. I'm not 100% sure why it says that.

However, there are some VERY creative ways to get around that.

I thought as long as you weren't a student you didn't even have to worry about a ticket. Even if you get a ticket, you don't have to pay it unless you're a student or unless you ever plan on going to MTSU anytime in the near future.

I think after 4pm, they aren't even around on campus to give tickets...

I once dated a girl who attended UTK. I was never a student there, but I probably racked up $250 in tickets. I never paid any of them. I hope that whoever bought the car I drove at that time never tried to register at UTK.

I was basically speaking from an MTSU student's perspective. I bought a vanity titans tag after I registered my car with them and so now if I "illegally" park, I just take my student ID down and send the ticket in as a guest with my dad's social on it. So far (2x), it has worked like a charm.

Anyone who doesn't actually go there or have their tags registered with the school should be able to park almost anywhere without any trouble.

yep it's definitely 5:30 I parked in the library parking lot at like 5:20 and got a ticket BASTARDS!

yeah, just take the ticket and don't pay it. what are they going to do, withhold your transcript? Features fans are more important than MTSU students anyway.

Well, MTSU's parking department is suppose to turn all ticket information over to the Department of Motor Vehicles for the state. Whether or not they do this is probably another story, but I do know of some folks who had this same opinion - hey, what can they do? - and they later found out that the unpaid ticket showed up on their driving record.

I have to miss the features because of a ticket A freaking ticket. I have to drive to goodlettsville, for a class because that where I got my ticket at. THe class starts at 5:30 and ends 7:30. My nerves will be wrecked the whole time knowing that I'm missing them playing for free on MTSU campus that's my luck always. dude I'm so features starved.. I hate missing shows.

Just for the record, you can call Goodlettsville and tell them that you need to postpone your traffic school. As long as you give them a day or two's notice, they'll okay it.

I would so reschedule it, if I hadn't started a new job and already requested off from work for the night.. I tell you it all sucks and there's noway out of it but to go and miss the show. I can't keep requesting different days off I'm still in the replaceable category there. I'll just have to roll with the punches for a few months before I start requesting off for shows. lol
