Oh no. When I hear "Best Old Local Band," I think "washed up" and "past their prime." The Features are neither of these things. I would think it would feel very insulting to be mentioned alongside these total has-beens. I mean, the guys in these other bands are pushing 40. The Features should be taken out of this category.

The other category seems kind of strange too. Did the Features "hit the big time" this year?

How about just nominating them for "Best Local Band," for goodness sake?

Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

That's news to me!

I think a more appropriate category would have been "Best <Established> Local Band" to go along with "Best New Local Band". Either way, I think it's cool they got some recognition. I think the music speaks for itself as to whether they're "washed-up" or not.
