TOPIC: New Update

Wow, most of what was posted has already been announced by rollum, but I can't believe that we gotta wait till 2004 for the new album. I mean, thats a summer and a winter away sad.gif I don't know why I was thinking it would be out much sooner... Guess that's just another reminder of my occasional stupidity. however, I'm happy that they will be doing shows in the meantime. One thing that caught my attention is the word "touring." I'm assuming this means far away from Nashville? If so, then just think about all the fun, new people that'll be visiting the boards.... I know i can't wait...

I am so excited now! Not just about the album but all of next year! I think its going to go very fast and the album will be out before we know it. Next year is going to kick ass. Touring makes me sad, though. I hate having to miss shows. Oh well, as long as they are being exposed. I'm having mixed feelings because I want July to hurry up and get here but I dont want to speed up summer!

well, i may be out of the loop, but i think the album being out early next year would be a rather quick turn around from recording. Which is good. I wonder what the label has said to them and what kind of distribution they'll be getting...

Features in Chicago while Will is 21 must happen. It MUST.

I predict March or April of next year for the album.

I hope the tour goes well, and I'm surprised that they're still promoting The Beginning.

As for July, I just don't want them to play a show while I'm out of town!

If any Features album ever gets released I'll be happy. I remember being excited that they were finally going to put out an album when they were recording with Mahaffey. At this point, I'll take what I can get when I can get it. I'm not trying to be overly cynical, I've just learned not to believe it until I see it. That goes for pretty much any local band.

I TOTALLY AGREE!

What I take away from this news update is that maybe someone has picked up The Beginning - Universal or otherwise - and will be distributing it. You don't usually say "touring in support of __________" if you're just selling _________ at your merch table. Am I wrong?

(Edited by jamiecarroll at 11:32 pm on Jun. 5, 2003)
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

I don't know if you're wrong or not, but I was wondering the same thing. Why take the trouble to promote an album that's been out for a while when you are almost ready to start promoting another? This also makes me wonder if perhaps the first single would in fact come from The Beginning. If this turns out to be the case, which song would/should it be? My vote is for (The Beginning) Week One... that song just never gets old as far as i'm concerned.

Although it wouldn't be my personal choice, I would guess that they would choose "The Beginning (Week One)" because they've already dedicated some resources to a video.

Mine too, but I think The Beginning is the best song for radio play potential.

Basically you don't release a new artist in the fourth quarter, so many new acts have debut bows (I sound like I'm writing for Billboard or something) at the beginning of the year. That's the reason for our wait (it'll be long, but not as long as waiting for the new season of Six Feet Under).

No tours planned of Waffle Houses. They couldn't agree on which one to play at the I-24/Highway 96 exit so they decided to call the whole thing off.

(yeah I posted this in the Another Opinion thread but to avoid confusion I posted it back here)

God I love the dual-Waffle House exit. Such an amazing bit of city planning/entrepeneurship.

i believe that this may be a running theme with waffle houses... there is one on each side of the Bowling Green Exit on I-65 as well... I'm just curious to know how many of these are out there and just how many cancelled tours their existance has caused... ph34r.gif

The bad thing is dual Waffle House action happens at both interstate exits in Murfreesboro.

Honestly, I have not been a fan of Waffle House since I joined the work force. Why? It's kind of expensive for the amount of food that I like to eat. Other than that, it kicks ass. However, that is reason enough to keep from going there all of the time and this also helps Waffle House remain special, since I don't go much.

I always get the 2 egg, grits and toast. If you actually eat the grits, you can fill up rather easily and for only a couple dollars plus coffee. but a lot of the stuff is rather expensive. That's the main reason I don't venture far from the 2 egg deal.

I usually do $10 with tip when I eat at Waffle House, which is probably a little much. I also go there when I'm hungry enough to lick the plates clean with an All-Star Breakfast.

Stopforme, I'm not sure where you are living now, but there are two or three Waffle Houses on Charlotte alone. One is at the Briley Pkwy on the corner of Charlotte and White Bridge by the I40 on ramp. The other is off I40 at the second Charlotte Pike exit and I think there is another one at the Old Hickory Blvd exit off of, you guessed it, I40.

There is also one on Highway 70 in Bellvue just past the Mall across from Toys R Us..
I TOTALLY AGREE!

I believe there's one right off 65 and Trinity, although my favorite is Hendersonville's. The one with the hottest girls is the 65 and Harding exit.

I go with the steak, eggs, and hashbrown combo. Chop them all up, add A1, and mix into a beautiful casserole.

The guy that I work for in Gallatin owns all of the jukeboxes in Middle TN Waffle Houses. He also owns the cigarette machines that used to be in them. Now, they are in storage, but one will soon be joining Paul, Mitch and I at our apartment in Murfressboro. It will have a home. Sniff, sniff. And, just when the big, mean Tobacco Settlement tried to suck it's life away. We are do-gooders.
