Who else will be at the NYC show next week? I moved up here from Nashville 6 months ago, and have been suffering from Features withdrawal. I'm looking forward to seeing them again and what I've been missing.

You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

Somebody just signed up for the username like yours but without the "the". I don't know if it's a joke or not. The IP isn't similar to any other member's as far as I can tell. Maybe it's another really big fan of Bottle Rocket?

thelawnwrangler-

you are going to have to start putting the slash (/) before your 2nd i to get the italics to work.

I apologize for stepping on your identity. Perhaps I should change my username to AppleJack.

or dignon.

i initially thought about being futureman, but didn't want people to confuse the character with bela fleck's percussionist.

Does lawnwrangler have a goatee? If so, he's probably thelawnwrangler's evil twin.

I wish I could be at this one and I wish I knew folks in NYC to recommend the Features to. Nevertheless, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say good luck with show, have a safe trip, and make Middle Tennessee proud!

I want them to get there safely too. They'll have very snowy scenery on the drive up there!

FEATURES ROCK BKLYN

Just wanted to say, The Features did you all proud here in NYC. I am not a Nashville native but have family in Murfreesboro and Nville and have seen Matthew & the gang @ 12th & Porter. What a great band. It was too bad they didn't let you play more tunes. So glad you made it up here in the snow, and best wishes for a safe return.

love,

I live in Brooklyn and went over to Southpaw last night to see Mayflies USA. My disappointment at them not making it through the snow was threatening to fuck up my evening until The Features came on. What a great band! Their performance stood head and shoulders above all the other acts. Totally original, idiosyncratic, great stage presence and, most importantly of all, really rockin'. It was a breath of fresh air in the stale, derivative atmosphere created by the other bands. You guys in Tennessee should relish their prsence in your neck of the woods while you can 'cause I have the feeling they're destined to fill venues appreciably larger than your local bar.

Okay, wow, well I am overjoyed by these great reports. If anyone from NYC would like some MP3s or anything to share the Features experience with everyone, I have loads of live stuff on Kazaa and our lovely MP3 sharing site has been replenished, I do believe. http://sweb.uky.edu/~klhaut2/music/
Yay Features, world domination is in our reach!

my thoughts exactly....perhaps this gig worked as a showcase of sorts for our beloved features and some record company will finally offer them a deal. I've been keeping my fingers crossed for a long time now.....

oh and i would like to add that the "buffalo head" 7" is number 5 on the WMTS Top Ten most played albums/eps/singles. Since i am the only person at the station who has a copy, I've taken the liberty of playing the hell out of it, and it seems that it has finally payed off...i love the fact that I can open a copy of College Music Journal and see the Features name in there.....

Digsy- thank you so much for posting the link to your MP3s. Now I can send Features music out to friends in NYC & San Fransisco. Especially happy to have a recording of Demons finally!!!! thankyouthankyouthankyou.

And again, can't tell you how fun it was to be able to walk 10 minutes from my apt in Brooklyn and see The Features play -- a real pleasure. As John said, they were worlds above the other bands that played Southpaw last night, and it was fun to watch people shut up and listen.
