I'm flipping through Nylon magazine, and find an article about Holly Williams, grand-daughter of Hank, right? She talks about how in Nashville there is "...so much horrible cheesy crap" but then says "But we do have a great punk rock underground coming up, and killer bands [such as The Features and Wilco] and hard rock clubs, you know?"

Nylon is my favorite fashion magazine...the issue is Nov. 2004 (Luxe for Life). I thought it was neat and I'm surprised I didn't notice until now.
That's so NA.

don't brackets in quotes normally signify an interpretation of what the writer assumes she meant?

Also, Nylon had Avril Lavigne and The Donnas on the cover.

Apparantly so. But it's in brackets, so she might have mentioned earlier in the interview that those are bands that she saw in Nashville and the person who wrote it didn't know any better. That's why you shouldn't use parentheses and brackets (like this) when you write.

Either way, someone's wrong....but The Features are awesome, and I'm glad she recognized that. Punk rock underground? I wonder who she means...?

I'm surprised RichardDawson didn't notice it. He's the, uh, Nylon-reading type if you know what I mean...

And I think I've said my peace on BYOP elsewhere, but I have plenty to copy and paste if necessary.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.
