TOPIC: Opening for the Raconteurs
Posted  Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 11:53 AM
Post 1 of 24
The Raconteurs (featuring Jack White from the White Stripes) have asked The Features to open for them December 30th and 31st at the Riviera in Chicago. Presale on their website starts in 10 minutes.

General onsale is this Friday. Up until this point, it's been a rumor, but I saw it was on the Raconteurs myspace page and figured it was only fair to post it here for you guys.

This is the best news I've gotten in a long time.

"Asked" them too? Like, as in, Jack White and/or Brendan Benson knows the band and enjoys them?

Nice!

So I guess it's safe to say these guys will be signed by a major record label in the very near future if they haven't already.

Well, according to the rumors, it was Little Jack and Patrick (also of the Greenhornes/ Lorretta Lynn band) who approached them, but I think Jack and Brendan probably dig them, too.

Well, I'm glad you get to see them again, and I do believe you currently hold the record for paying the most to see them.

You should turn 21 so that you can see them down here on their home turf.

exactly. i'm actually waiting on my sister to turn 18, which is in less than a month, so i can start driving down for those gigs!

ha, i'd like to think nobody has paid that much in the past. its crazzzzzy, i complain when any show is over $20. wtf.

That's great news. Hopefully it will lead to more shows and more exposure. I think the Features and the Raconteurs playing together makes perfect sense.

this would be an awesome show to attend. i don't really care for the raconteurs album (mostly because of the awful, super-shiny porduction), but i think some of their songs might be pretty good live. besides, there's nothing better to look at during the first second of the new year than jack white.

The raconteurs.com presale for both shows has ended.

Ticketmaster is doing a presale right now until 10PM, but I don't know the password or how one would go about getting it (I think it's a local radio station presale). If anyone knows, please let us know. In the meantime, I'll try to contact management.

General Onsale begins tomorrow, Saturday, Oct 14th at 10am CDT on ticketmaster.com.

yes!! $28 is never too much to pay to see jack white, even if you live in the same town as him. guess it's time to start listening to that shitty album again and give it another try.

Unfortunately, management doesn't have any more information on the password.

This site is the source for the password, but it involves registering for the newsletter. However, I'm not certain if you would receive yesterday's newsletter if you signed up today.
