so as i posted earlier, pere ubu is coming to nashville in september! the features need to open the show. pere ubu has been a huge influence on our boys and i know it would be huge if they were able to open. look folks, this needs to happen, pronto. so here's the plan- email the included email address and stress how much the features need to play with pere ubu.
go do it.
go do it now.
for christsakes go do it right now!
this is the address..

you are evil if you do not take two minutes of your day to do this. good day..er...i mean night.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

good idea, lawnboy. i'd be more than willing to help the features out b/c rollum and matt are fans...but maybe mindylieu can back me on this one: i don't think girls like pere ubu.  dave thomas' voice frightens me, though  'heaven' is a good song . i saw pere ubu open up for they might be giants about 8 years ago at vanderbilt memorial gym.  girls don't like rush either.

straight from allmusic.com's description of pere ubu's 'tones':  Difficult, Ominous, Paranoid, Gloomy, Tense/Anxious, Quirky, Detached, Angst-Ridden, Bleak, Volatile

Bullshit, smee. Everyone likes Rush.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

well, i haven't heard enough of their music, but i liked what i heard. some was crazy, some was catchy. sorry to sorta disappoint you smee. they aren't my favorite, but i would definitely be up to seeing them. especially if my fave band opened for them! girls definitely like the features.

I don't know enough to judge Pere Ubu yet, but I also have to disagree because I like Rush. Although I never did until about a year ago, so maybe it's an age thing and not a gender thing?

I have liked the things that I heard of Pere Ubu's, although the number of songs doesn't amount to much. That's just my input.

It's very strange, but lately, I've had no desire to buy more CDs or listen to new bands. I'm content with the Features, Beatles, REM, Fluid Ounces and the like. It's odd really. The new Flaming Lips album in July will change this, but for now, it's like I'm indifferent to new music. Can anyone relate, or will this post ban me?

I get in stages like that sometimes. It's like I am at a stalemate. It usually passes quickly for me when I come across the name of a band I have never heard and end up liking them. I was actually at a stalemate the first time I heard the Features. But, of course, that turned me around.

My stale mate has been going on now for a little over a year. I actually don't mind, though.

I listened to Boston at a party this weekend & was seriously enjoying it. I forgot that they did Rock N Roll Band- the ultimate tribute to groupies & rock stardom.
