TOPIC: Possible Roadtrip / Trip

So I talked to Matt after tonight's show and he told me that they have two Chicago dates in October! Hooray for getting to see my favorite band multiple times even when I'm out of Tennessee...

Don't have the dates or anything yet, but those of you that want to check out the Windy City should try to keep October weekends flexible...

If I do any trip like that, then it'll be jumping on TF's bandwagon to Athens, GA for an REM pilgrimage, Pere Ubu, and the Features.
I can't grow a beard, and I don't like to party.

How long does it take to drive from Murfreesboro to Chicago? like 10 hours?

It's more of a Camry than a bandwagon.

And, as a wiser man than me said, why drive to Chicago when you can fly for $50 on Southwest Airlines?

I'm serious about organizing roadtrips to Athens and/or Chicago. If anyone on this message board is interested in going to these shows and wants to team up to reduce costs, let me know.

I am interested in the trip. I asked off at work tonight.

I would really like to go to the Athens show and asking off "work" (in the loosest sense of the term) is easy. Of course this all depends on the details of the trip (gas, riding, sleeping quarters or if it's a there-and-back-trip).

The answers to these questions, of course, depend on the people who actually make the trip. If no one wants to fork over the cash for a motel room, we'll come back that night. If people want to make it a long weekend in Atlanta, we can do that. I'm really flexible about the whole thing. In a week or so, I'll send e-mails to everyone who has expressed an interest, and we can work out the details.

Taking into consideration that I do end up getting work off, I am willing to stay in a motel/hotel or come back that night. Whatever is good for you all is good for me. If anyone wants to get in touch with me about it, feel free. In case you don't know, on AIM my screename is stephaniew17. I can help TF get this all together.

I'm still interested in the idea of a road trip but with the addition of all these new closer shows, it has become apparent that (IWantElvis & HaveSomeSoma, prepare to gasp) I have have HAVE to look for a job. I guess tomorrow afternoon I'll roll by the ol' Target and apply on one of them fancy machines. All for the Features! And eating I guess...

Yes it was but I consider it a step in the right direction seeing as how the pun wasn't based on music. So...yes it's a sickness but it is one that we will all have to work through. I just need some time and understanding until I get my bearings back and am able to be just stupid and not punny on top of stupid. Thank you. unsure.gif

it's quite alright by me mr. slattery. i myself just got out of a 40 day clinic for bad puns. i didn't mean to seem overly critical, but i'm worried that being around such puns could lead me to relapse. i'd really not end up like the robert downey jr. of bad puns. the shame of it all is pun-ishment enough...

Ah I understand. I, of course, would liken myself to the Matthew Perry of bad puns. But hey, at least I never made as many puns as Big Pu-oop caught myself. I think a support group could be started...

Yes Big Pun is dead. But which one wasn't the player, he just crushed a lot (or something)? Was that Big Pun?
