This is going to be a fun show. My first features experience in the great outdoors. Also, i must say that IBL is my favorite band to see at Red Rose.

I will definately be there, and I can not contain my happiness. It should be a wonderful show. I am looking forward to seeing IBL and finally purchasing their new CD. And may I add, Aaron looks especially cute in the photo on the Red Rose site. wub.gif

And Rachel, you must introduce yourself. I think I may just have a very special Ryan Adams surprise for you. wink.gif

But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

Awesome!!! I can't wait for this show... especially if it is gonna be the last one we see in a while! This has literally made my weekend.

Ohh and Rachel, I was looking forward to having a sister and parents for a few hours. However, the concert being outdoors makes up for the ''lack of family"

Even though going to this concert will probably make for a miserable Monday, I am extremely tempted. An outdoor show would be sooo nice at this time of year. Hell, maybe I'll do like deathscythe257 and just stay home the next day.

I'm very much so "there." It's been a symbolic year: a Features show the first week of school, a Features show the night before the last day of school. I may even take my camera to the show to document a Features experience (if it is okay). But...the patio? It's going to be small...I've only seen one show on the patio and the atmosphere was nice but the Red Rose indoors cannot even hold the might of The Features. Anyhow, I'm extremely excited and extremely pleased to hear this. Rachel, you better say hello!

Bring your camera, Digsy, no problem there. Really hope the weather holds up (I probably shouldn't have said that as now it'll rain).

Whoah...if it rains, what happens? I assume it moves indoors. Or the Features could keep the rock going through the downpour much like Diana Ross did. If Rollum interacting with rain is anywhere near as humorous as him interacting with the cloud of smoke at Vandy, then the show will be great.

Even the threat of rain will probably keep it inside, as it did with Fluid Ounces. Electrocution isn't a risk worth taking.

The crowd can easily overflow into the parking lot when the show is on the patio. It's not the best in terms of revenue, or quality listening, but it's an option not offered if they play inside.

Cameras are good for the occasional show. TF has taken my old job of taking them at shows, and I'm glad.

I have a feeling the "end of year show" has probably influenced this show. The college crowds go during the summer, and so they're going to do one more show (at least, that's my distant observation). Can you blame them? They usually don't play as much in the summer, and it seems the crowds may be at least a little smaller.

My digital camera is a video camera in disguise. So even if we weren't allowed to bring video cameras I would still be straight because they would NEVER KNOW. Except, the sound kind of sucks.. and I dance far too much for a video camera. All my clips from the Lexington show look like there is an earthquake happening.

I've taken all sorts of equipment into Features shows... audio recording equipment, cameras, etc. I've never had any problems bringing it in. blightman will often set up with a huge microphone stand, and no one says a thing to him. The band doesn't mind if you record their shows. (They'd probably have a problem if you tried selling the recordings, but it's OK if you're doing it for your personal collection.) Since the band doesn't care, most venues won't try to stop you.

So bring the biggest freakin' camera rig you can find. If, by some odd chance they do say something to you, just tell them that your name is Brian Wilson. They'll let you in.

I don't think this is a "sell-out" type of show. I've never known of a Features show to sell-out, mainly because I think to sell-out there needs to be an allotted amount of tickets. I guess the patio could get overcrowded (which it will) and people would have to stand in the parking lot, but that isn't so bad.

I'm sure I'll be there at 1 pm to preserve the perfect angle for my camera.

I cannot wait until Sunday. My week is going to be extra sucky. I've got about 58 different assignments due...let alone finals this week and next week.

Rachel, I would suggest getting there no later than 9:00. You don't want to miss Imaginary Baseball League. I'll try to say "hello" if I see you.

And, yes, out-of-towners (especially those in Memphis) should make the trip. I'm sure it would be well worth it. biggrin.gif

I saw them when they came with the Red Hot Chili Peppers back in 1999, I think it was. It was a very good show. They were far superior to the Chili Peppers. Heck, the brought out Peter Frampton for a song! I haven't listened to "One by One" more than once, but I wore out "Colour & The Shape" and "Foo Fighters" during my junior/senior years of high school.

Yeah, that was a surprisingly good show. Of course, Foo deserved MUCH more time than they got, but RHCP rocked a lot more than I was expecting. There's another band that's too cool for Nashville this time around...

As good as that show was, nothing will beat the show I saw in 97 (?) at the Brewery in Lousiville. It was a smaller show, Rocket From the Crypt opened, and they were at their peak. Of course, the other time I saw them in 95 (yeah, I'm old) at the American Theater in St. Louis was pretty awesome. I wasn't as big a fan of their debut album, but that dog. opened, so it was a solid show.

You should give One by One another shot. It's no TCATS, but it's really friggin' good. There is Nothing Left to Lose also has its moments.

I really liked There is Nothing Left To Lose (it was a personal favorite during my sophomore year). Both "One By One" and "Sea Change" got lost in the shuffle when I put CDs in my car, which explains to why I know all the words on "Tone Soul Evolution" and not those two albums. I will have to remedy that.
