well, are you ready for some insight into the new management at the red rose? I called today with the very same question, and the person who was answering the phone didn't know what time it started. She asked 2 other people and not one of them knew the answer. Eventually she came back to the phone and informed me that she was looking at the flyer and it didn't say what time the show began. She also wasn't sure how much the concert was, or if it was going to be on the patio.

i'll give the rose a month or two tops...

They'll be fine. Give them a little bit of time to get used to stuff. I hate how everybody's jumping all over them about little shit. When is a safe time to get there? It'll probably start at 9. How much will it be? How much is it ever? $5 or so. And, they'll probably let them play wherever the fuck they want to, because these people aren't used to making these decisions. They might not have even known that shows were ever held on the patio. Rollum could probably weasel his way to the roof if he wanted to, ala 24 Hour Party People. And, there's always the possibility that you talked to one of their new employees. It's essentially a new business, that shit happens to any new business. It's typical. I just wish everybody would quit giving them grief over shit. If you don't like the place, then don't go.

I agree that it's pretty piss-poor no one there knows what's going on tonight. But I would assume that when it gets closer to showtime they'll have their act together. They bring in people specifically to run shows and they typically do a good job (considering what they're working with). This is all assuming that what my reliable sources have told me is still true. I agree with Rob in saying "if you don't like it, don't go". Not because I believe in your principles if you want to protest, but because it leaves me more room to get my groove on.

Man, it's too bad Sina said she'll never go to another Red Rose show. It just won't be the same without her...

well, glad your frustration was let out b/c of my post...lol I'm not one of those loyal devoted-till-death fans of the old red rose. I thought it was cool, and could continue to be that way. I was just making the statement that its funny they don't know when an event- they are hosting-is starting. And my questions weren't really that out of line, i mean, new managers could most certainly mean new prices, new policies, new locations, etc. should we cut them some slack, of course. but c'mon, it says something about a place when they look to a flyer for their own information. i only hope the best for the red rose, it has great potential. But if they CONTINUE to seem unorganized when it comes to these things, it will eventually catch up w/them. thats ALL i was saying.

Sorry, I was venting, not so much at you, but I just kind of hit that point where I'm getting annoyed by talk against the Red Rose. Again, sorry about that.

it's cool, i didn't take it personally in a "gosh this guy wants to kill me" kind of way. I know where you're coming from b/c i feel the same way. Granted, the new people could have done things to ensure a smoother transition, but everyone should at least give the place a chance to redeem itself. I was only concered that perhaps they weren't as on top of things as they should be.

by the way, i just called them. $5 begins at 9:00 and it's indoors.

It still amazes me that I get to see The Features for a measely five dollars.
