I hope I did your boys some justice. Having never seen them and having only listened to the beginnings ep, exhibit a, and the new ep, I didn't really feel qualified to start describing the music or catagorizing it into a genre. I just know that whatever it is I really enjoy it.

I'm glad bestweekever picked up on that post! For the life of me I can't understand why these guys arent playing stadiums, much less, signed. But I guess it's my luck cause I get to see them at a small venue.

D-Con Radio One? Is this a Features' song? For the life of me, I can't remember this anywhere in history - and while the singer sounds somewhat like Matt, the sound definately isn't Features-ey - or is it? Will someone PLEASE clear this up for me???

Ok, I did some searching. I've never heard that, but I guess it is a Features song. Don't I feel ridiculous missing out on that. Sorry if I came in at Exhibit A in September of 2004 and didn't know much about pre-Exhibit A stuff.

D-Con is pre-Rollum, is it not?

D-Con (Radio One) was released on the second Spongebath Sampler in 1998. The compilation is out of print, but the song (in addition to three other songs appearing on the two volumes) is available for download in the audio/video section of the Features website.

It's not that sad! Congratulations for discovering the Features when you did. I'm sure if you ask around the board you can locate some of the older songs and add them into your daily audio mix. I was introduced in 2001 to the Features, but there's a wide range of fans on this Message Board ranging from close friends to brand spanking new fans.

I've found a good bit of those songs. The sound was much different during Spongebath. Very Southern-rockish, but not in a Lynyrd Skynyrd way. Also, Matt sounds much younger - probably because he was. I played the older stuff on the radio today. You know, I play the Features a lot on WMTS, and my co-host thinks I play them a little too much. HOWEVER, if you think about it, of the other 166 or so hours in a week - who else plays them? Maybe three or four other shows. It's not like Top 40 radio where it's the same 5 songs every hour. So, of the 168 hours in the WHOLE week, you get like 30 minutes or so of Features music TOPS. Sheesh. Not nearly enough.

I did a whole show with Features music one week, back when I had my show. I have to say that I got a lot of calls and requests that day, moreso than I ever got before or after.

so WMTS streams on the net... http://www.mtsu.edu/~wmts/

I think I'm going to listen to your show since you clearly have good taste in music and you are spot on about every other station playing the same 5 songs all the time.

Usually I listen to BBC Radio One or London's Top 40 station - XFM (top 40 their is completely different). The Features have never been on either of those, but it's a matter of time my friends.

So when is your show on?

The Features did something on Radio 1 I think, way back when Exhibit A came out. I remember listening online. It was some guy's show...

M-CC-H, since you've begun looking into the Spongebath era I'd suggest looking into: Self, Fluid Ounces, The Katies, and Call Florence Pow albums from those days as well. You might find something else to enjoy.

Also,I think if you use web-archives you can get to the old Features page with a player that had some older songs on it.

Oh, I absolutely love Fluid Ounces... saw them open for the Features one time. As for the Katies, they're not quite my style, but they're certainly not bad.

Oh Jeddeth, the moment you say that, we'll end up not playing anything. Haha. Wouldn't that be terrible. We're not a music show, though - mostly political talk, we just throw in good music sometimes.

Two shows that I can recommend are "Fascination Street" (Sundays 9-11 PM) and "Red Velvet Couch" (Tuesdays 7-9 PM). Those times are Eastern. Anyone else got any?

Uhhh, From the Right - Wednesdays from 2 - 4 CST. I don't like to talk about it on here... mainly because no one else likes for me to talk about it - haha. But yes, Fascination Street, Green With Indie (perhaps).

OHH OHH OHH, and on the "Drive Time Show Push List" number 19 is "Contrast EP." Heck yes.

An aside, as far as political talk, we're the best you can find on WMTS - when we plan the show. Not being pompous or anything, but we come in and run a pretty tight ship... knock it out. Sometimes there are guests. Not so much this semester... we've exhausted our guest options.
