"stagecoach" is really the only song i ever yell for anymore, guess i'll stick with that for tonight. but alas, i do not really have the best (or loudest) "yellin' voice," so we'll just see.

thanks for letting us know your choice ahead of time TF, now we can all be super annoyed with you right off the bat.

I know that I'm a day late to voice my opinion on which song I'd like to hear... but I always hope and pray that the boys will play "Radio One." I believe it to be as fantastic as pink starbursts or the best orgasm you could imagine. But they never ever play it anymore! I've heard it's cos they simply don't think it's that great of a song, but I couldn't disagree more. Or maybe they think it's too "pop"- but who cares? Anyone else agree that it needs to be rescued from obscurity?

Great show at Exit/In last night, by the way... I hadn't gone to a show since the Boro last month, so to have my fix satisfied was very nice.

I love it too, sugarplum. But I think that "Radio One" was a Don Sergio song, and all of the Don Sergio songs retired with him.

I was wearing a green long-sleeve shirt with an orange stripe across the chest. You can see a picture here. I was towards Matt's right for most of the show (right behind Sina and crew). I was also selling verde merch for the first half of the show.

Why would you do that?

I have heard Rollum say that since their catalogue is so large, the setlists are usually just suggestions of what they think they should play. I have seen Rollum respond to a shout out many times by pointing at the shouter-outer and going "Yes!" This usually leads to a power struggle between Matt and Rollum over what to play...heh...

i don't know about that. since i often stand freakishly close to the front during shows, i've witnessed matt win several times. rollum does, however, seem to know how to play every song on every instrument, as he often helps the other members out at the beginning of songs. amazing...

The fact that they played 33 1/3, a fading star, reminds us that the likes of Dark Room may just become more of a rare treat. Or they may have just forgotten to include it. If it is slated to appear on the forthcoming album, then they'll probably bring it back. I'd say that they do get tired of these songs eventually. Thursday has had new life breathed into it lately.

I'm surprised to see that this song is such a favorite, and that every one is missing it so much. I always thought of it as more of a filler song.

Oddly enough, I see 33 1/3 as a filler song. The live version is significantly shorter than the recorded version and the only thing I really like about the song is that it's about records. When it comes to a concert, I would much rather hear Dark Room than 33 1/3.

I think Dark Room is great, and I think it has/had potential as a single, but it hasn't been a favorite of mine for a while just since it's been played over and over...I'd rather it become a rare treat.

you see, i feel the same way about songs like "33 1/3" and "kari-ann." i think they're great and they were some of my favorite songs when i first became a features fan. but i'd much rather have songs like that to enjoy as a rare treat and have "darkroom" stay in regular rotation as a staple to every show. it just never gets old to me, i love it.

I think I like Kari-Anne more now than ever, but it's still not a favorite. 33 1/3 was one of my favorites for the longest time, but then I sort of out-grew it (for lack of a better word). I enjoyed hearing it as a semi-rare treat.

Strangely enough, See You Thru is the song closest in age to Dark Room, and I'm still not tired of it (and it's still a favorite of mine).

I go back and forth on Exporcising Demons, which is a tad older than Dark Room and See You Thru, as to whether it's a favorite, a staple, or filler. Probably between staple and favorite.

I never really cared for "33 1/3", but that's just me. I personally would like to hear "Bring On The Night" more often. My hopes for hearing the older versions of "Damage Is Done" and "Temporary Blues" have faded. I am worried about "Stork". It hasn't been played for the past 2 local shows. I love it when it's played before "Me and the Skirts".

Stork has never been in regular rotation in their sets, though, and I think that it and Bumblebee will stay that way. Stork was best right before Walk You Home or 2x2 (in my opinion).

I almost forgot...the only time that I've ever heard "Harold" was at the Red Rose in December. That song was really good and I wish that it could be revived. On a similar note, I will not be the only one requesting "Big Bottom" by Spinal Tap at the next show.

I could really do without "33 1/3". It has always been one of my least favorites. I get a little upset when somebody yells for it at shows when we could be requesting something like "Armani Suede" or "Damage is Done". Of course, I still enjoy it when they play it, but I would much rather have another song take its place.

I'm not a big fan of "Harold". I could definitely do without it.

On the other hand... "Big Bottom" would be entertaining, but I don't think I can see Matt singing
"My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game's waiting there inside her tights".

I'm not too sure about that.

ARGH, Blasphemy! But I guess everyone is entitled to his/her opinions. But I still wanted to take this opportunity to say "ARGH, Blasphemy!" once again. I do admit that I liked the older version of "Harold" more than the one they play now...but I find that's the case with all the songs that have been re-worked over the years. I think I get used to the first version, so any re-workings seem sort of weird to me (or they take me awhile to get used to). But I do like 33 1/3 a lot better since they cut out that long bridge (as heard on the Mahaffey recording).

As I'm planning a wedding, "Growing Old" has popped into my head numerous times.

As for 2x2, it saw its hay-day around the time Matt's wife was pregnant and shortly thereafter, then it tapered off and was never really in rotation as much. I guess they felt it was dated, or they just got tired of it, or Rollum never wanted to play it.

the new temporary blues
and of course...stagecoach

No question, Blow It Out and Someway, Somehow should be played at every show. And while I'm at it, you people better get rowdy when they play the latter.

I'm also hoping that they play all the newer songs tomorrow night. If they play Exhibit A, it better have the "whoa-ho-ho"s or I'm gonna riot.

i also loved the "whoa-ho-ho's" and do wish they'd bring them back. i tried to think of reasons why matt stopped singing them, and what i came up with were the following: they thought people didn't like them, matt wanted to give parrish time to shine, or the sheer intensity of the "whoa"s at the beginning of the song put a strain on matt's voice. unless the real reason is the latter, i think they should be resurrected.

and to add to the request list, i have my fingers crossed for at least a few deatures covers.

Yeah, I've been surprised at the lack of Darkroom and all, but its not like its been that long... a month and a half. Were I able to go to the show, my much bigger priority would be The Design and the new Temporary Blues. Stagecoach would also be fun.

Why is the new Temporary Blues so important? It was gone for quite some time, resurrected for one or two shows in a new form, and then... not played? This was precisely what happened with Stick Together, which was never heard from again. This can't be the case with Temporary Blues.

But that is just me.

Has anyone else noticed the disappearance of "The Design"? I got to thinking about it last night and I haven't heard it since November at the Boro. Am I dillusional or is this true?

I' ve noticed this as well Mr. Dawson. The Design seems to have fallen by the wayside.

I don't think it was ever that firmly fixed in the rotation. Even at its height in the spring/summer of 2002, it was a 100% sure bet that they would play it. I miss it, too.

I also thought about how cool it would be to see The Features play an acoustic set at the Bluebird or somewhere. That would be ridiculous!

My records indicate that the 11-16 show at the Boro was in fact the last time The Design was played... one of the reasons I'm pushing for it at the upcoming shows... despite the fact that I won't be there.

I have also noticed the disappearance of the Design. At the next show, my priorities are "The Design," "Temporary Blues" and "Oh My Love." Where has "Oh My Love" been?

I've seen people lately talk about "Stick Together", I've never hear or heard of that song, does anyone have a recording of it?

I don't have a recording of "Stick Together." They played it before I started taping shows. However, I'd be very happy to trade some stuff to get a copy of it...
