People really seem to love The Features' song Thursday. The Features have ended a vast majority of their sets with the classic and it prompts countless people to come here to find out about it. For that reason, we figured it was a topic worth "pinning". Although unfortunately not found on the debut major-label release Exhibit A, it was originally recorded about 7 or 8 years ago and released on vinyl (w/Rabbit March).

The "classic" recording of this song is available for download here, but we recommend you find a live recording somewhere.

That's what happens when a band plays an exhaustive tour in front of thousands and thousands of people in a country where they're much better recieved. They've only played a handful of shows here in the US in past few months, hence the paucity of show reviews. Plus, after years of discussion (check the archives), we start running out of things to talk about.

(Unless, of course, we have something to procrastinate over-- like writing a dissertation or something)

Is another witty joke, or is there really a new song called Gates of Hell?

The Mysterious you never lies. Twenty-four more conversions and 3 more miracles, and he'll be an official prophet of Daigle.

And when have we ever lied about the existence of a Features song?

"gates of hell" is excellent....slower than a lot of other stuff they do....but it builds and builds and really gets loud and strong about midway.....never very fast....and then comes back down......and there is whistling at the end......

hold up now, I said "witty joke." As much cynicism and sarcastic comments this place has, they 're almost always funny.

And the title really made me think that it was some type of inside joke or something... it hardly sounds like a song The Features would sing.

I really hope someone can record this upcoming show... It's going to be fantastic.

Well, I've heard pretty much none of the new Features songs...I'm interested as to hear what they sound like. Anyone got any bootlegs? I'd be willing to trade for other Features goodies I have, both over the Internet or via the mail...(PM or jakob.dorof@gmail.com if you're interested)
