TOPIC: The Almighty Button Choice

So I guess I will try to stop thinking of button designs for a while...if you are interested in this button idea just go to http://sweb.uky.edu/~klhaut2/music/ and decide which one you think would look best on a jacket or purse or piercing. Feedback is welcome, requests are welcome...let the voting begin!

my vote was for the first four color button, very soothing to my eye. i really would wear any of the buttons that were options though. running close behind were the photographer and guitar buttons. but the twins that stork was holding were awfully cute...

i voted for the purple button. however, the photographer button comes in a very close second.

I voted for the 'Photographer Button.' It's visually interesting, yet it's simple. I think that it's very attention-grabbing. I like the ample use of white space. The one suggestion that I might make would be to make "The Features" be in a different font. The current one is good, but it might be a tad hard to read.

My second choice would be the 'Guitar Button'.

Who do I need to send my $20 to?
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

It'll probably be less than $20 if a couple of us split the cost. I guess we can get the money situation figured out after we've chosen a design.

I voted for the photographer button. It is mighty adorable. I personally love the font and hope it's legible enough to keep. My second choice would be the stork design.

Okay, back to relevance (no one on this board thought they'd ever hear me say that, I know) but since everyone was all about donating 20 dollars, does anyone think it'd be a good idea for us to just collectively buy a button maker and make however many of whatever design we want?

And I'm going to try and figure out another way for us to view the buttons...even if it just comes down to mailing a collage to people....

buttons are not dumb, they are an easy way to show support for the features. they can go with just about anything, jackets, purses, you name it...

and by the way, has anyone else noticed the way the board is slowly becoming a weird version of "love connection"?

Okay, well since we've stopped talking about buttons and music, and we've already discussed where we wash our clothes...why don't we talk about where we use a stove? I personally use the stove that is downstairs in the kitchen. It's a nice stove that I will miss when we move...sigh...

Hmm...okay in that case, let's all vote on which band we like better: Incubus or Audiovent.

Personally, I enjoy Incubus more. I don't find them great, horrible, anything...just average and not annoying at all. Audiovent's CD is titled "Dirty Sexy Knights In Paris." Only Flickerstick can pull that crap off.

It sure is hard when your conversation cannot include music, buttons, or stove top stuffing.

Hello all. Please visit http://sweb.uky.edu/~klhaut2/music/images.html

I never saw the button designs you all are talking about. If they got uploaded to my MP3 page, they probably got deleted.

Every day, I run a shell script which scans the MP3 uploads directory, looks for files that are too small to be MP3s or which don't have the .mp3 extension, and deletes them automatically. It's basic housekeeping, not anything personal.

The MP3 page is set up to index uploaded files by Artist and Album ID3 tags. Since image files don't have ID3 tags, that is your first clue that they don't belong on that page. I should probably write something into the code which prevents non-MP3 files from ever being written to that directory in the first place. I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I don't know, are people still interested? It seems like the band listened to our requests and got their own made (which are truly truly beautiful...I will wear mine for at least the next week straight), one of which resembles the button that was actually winning the poll. If people are still interested I guess we can discuss it.
