TOPIC: The Features at SXSW

Wow. We were just having a little talk about SXSW on another MB. And I was just making some comments implying that alot of great Nashville bands once again got snubbed this year. At the time, when I perusing the SXSW artists list, I did not see the Features listed. And just now, as I have perused that list again, I still do not see the Features. But nevertheless, I'm glad they got in and I know that this year, there'll surely be a more considerable "buzz" around them. I'm sure they'll knock it out of the park.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Yeah, Brian posted the show info earlier today. That's really really great! More importantly, I'll be seeing them at 12th and Porter on the 12th. Sweeeeet!!!

Saengerrunde Hall is not listed as a venue for SXSW. They may not be an official showcasing band. Maybe their label is doing a seperate showcase and rented the venue or something.

At least they are going...SXSW is, contrary to popular belief, a series of shows setup by the indystry insiders to show who they think are the next big thing: Not a launching ground for new and as of yet truly unsigned bands. Tear them up Features!

I think Andrew Bird will be there. This is very good news.
