From this weekend's Nashville Scene:

Saturday, 19th

The Features/Andrew Bird's Bowl Of Fire

Almost two years after releasing their magnificent EP The Beginning, explosive Murfreesboro basement-poppers The Features are preparing to raise their profile again--by releasing a 7-inch single on Fictitious Records (featuring their sublime rocker "Buffalohead"), recording a full-length album and touring with kindred Chicago artist Andrew Bird, whose band, Bowl of Fire, play a can't-miss gig with The Features at 12th & Porter.

Oh, how I love all of the support The Features get from music publications.

I'm getting there early for sure.
I can't grow a beard, and I don't like to party.

on friday night i went to the slow bar to see departure lounge with the glands and sunshine fix and there was the same show the next night. it was pretty packed the first night but i'm sure that added a little competition to the crowd. but it was still rocking and awesome and people were into it except those like 5 stupid people standing near the bathrooms that were more impressed with themselves than the features. rude people make me so mad. mad.gif

Hey, wait a minute. I was one of those people! OK... just kidding. I was up in the balcony... as always. And come to think of it, I've never used the restrooms at 12th & Porter.

Anyway, the crowd was smaller than I expected. There were hardly any people there at all until about 10:30. I think a lot of them came to see Fowl of Bire because I saw way too many people leaving after the Features played two or three songs. I guess it's their loss, though.
