it's most likely part of the sunday night concert series that's broadcasted on lightning 100. I think it's awesome.

It will be awkwardly packed though.

Well, then I guess that's okay. That's the only acceptable reason for them to be playing there at this point.

See, I don't have anything against them playing smaller clubs. I just don't like 3rd & Lindsley. I wish the Features would play at the End again.

havent heard a good "loud" show there. i saw be your own pet there and they sounded horrible...whether it is because the venue couldnt handle it or the band sucks is yet to be determined though.

I don't know their policy on age limits.

I don't like it because it's shaped like an L (with the stage at the corner), which makes it really awkward to move around in and makes for a lot of not-so-good sightlines. I think that the atmosphere is very singer-songwriter. Also, it's located in a strip mall.

Look, I don't want to be as negative as I sound right now. I'm happy every time the Features play in Nashville. As we all know, it's becoming more and more of a rare treat, so we should enjoy it, wherever it is. And you know, if them playing at 3rd&L means they get to be on the radio, then it's totally worth it.

It is. The last I heard, they were still trying to nail down a specific date (despite the fact that a tentative date has been posted on the 3rd and Lindsley site for weeks).

For the record, we didn't report this show here yet because it's still not 100% official. But expect to hear them on lightining 100 again in the near future!

According to that, they're playing on June 12th now (I think it was originally listed as the 5th). Sucks for die-hard fans like myself who are driving down to Atlanta that weekend to see them at Music Midtown.

How close do you have to be to Nashville to hear Lightning 100? Maybe I can catch it on the drive home...

True that we'll miss it, but I'm sure it will be recorded since it will be so easy to do so.

I haven't mentioned lately how much I love TF (mainly because he hasn't been around lately).

I think the age limit is 18+.

I think if the features are going to play there though, they should clear out the tables.

I lose it about 45 minutes east of Nashville on I-40. It's starting to look like a 40-60 mile radius from Nashville. Which sucks because I live about 80 miles out of Nashville and can only get 102.9.

Have fun in Hotlanta.

Thanks for the info (and well wishes).

Next question: how the hell to do I get through the thousands and thousands of hippies that will be stumbling out of Bonaroo as I drive through Mancester, TN.

Is that the same weekend?
Last year, Token and I were heading toward Chat/ATL on the day it started and saw that all the traffic was backed up coming from the east. We faced no problems going east. I would imagine that the problems will be the same coming the opposite direction on Sunday.

There are several alternate routes you could take. A particularly nice one this time of year is to get off I-24 at Monteagle, take Hwy 41 to Tracy City, then take Hwy 56 north to McMinnville. That's a beautiful drive. From McMinnville, you can take 70 South back to Nashville.

P.S. How fucking stupid of the Music Midtown organizers to schedule their event on the same weekend as Bonnaroo. Grow a brain!

Today in the Scene:

This summer, the Sunday night shows at 3rd & Lindsley offer something for just about everyone.

June 12: The Features return from their U.K. tour with Assembly of Dust.

Does that mean its official?

Yes, it is.

Now that the boys have arrived safely back in the USA, Meeks will be sending me the list of dates shortly. I can now say they have a show in Chicago on June 3rd (I'm pretty sure) at the Double Door, then one in Chatanooga on the way to the Atlanta show (I think that one was either the 9th or 10th), Music Midtown on the 11th of course, and back in Nashville at the above-mentioned 3rd and Lindsley show on the 12th.

Still no word on the alleged show that started this thread.

Look for an official post in the Shows section this afternoon.

Their website has a section to buy tickets online, but for two tickets it ended up being $27. I called about buying them on location and the girl said it was just $10 at the door.

This doesn't bother me, but if the show is going to sell out, I'd like to have my tickets beforehand.

Do you honestly think there's a chance this show won't sell out? Have you been to 3rd and Lindsley?

Which brings me back to my original question: Can you buy tickets at the venue?

I saw Cracker there once and I bought paper tickets at the venue. This has been a few years and if you called then I am sure they would have mentioned this if the option was available. Maybe it's worth a shot to call again though. I would not risk not getting a ticket; that place is ridiculously small.

okay, I did call again and found out that:

-tickets are only presold online
-online ticket sales end 48 hours before the show
-the earliest you can get tickets at the venue is 6:00

Because this is a radio broadcast, I can say with some certainty that The Features will play from 9pm to 10pm Sunday night. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a non-broadcasted encore, too. Assembly of Dust opens at 8pm.

The show will be 18+ and cost $10 per ticket. They're charging $2.50 for advance tickets plus a $0.50 Will Call charge (!?!). Due to limited space combined with a large fanbase, this show is expected to sell-out. There will probably be few tickets, if any, at the door the night of the show.

If you can't be there, but will be in the area, tune in to Lightning 100 (100.1FM) at 9pm.

For more information, visit the 3rd and Lindlsey website.
