I received a mailer from The Features asking for people to help pass out flyers/stickers/etc. at their upcoming shows with Kings of Leon. Unfortunately it doesn't hit Tampa (or Florida), but I did my part and e-mailed friends who live in those cities and also contacted college radio stations in all of those cities.
I've heard back from two of those stations:
-----
thank you for emailing us
I will give the info to our Modern Rock director
we appreciate your email..
if you have any information about the band, we would love to have him on the show.
(or if you have tickets for the concert or anything else)
thank you again
your friends at
KTCU

if its at hob, it's already on our calendar and will be announced that day on air every hour.

So the New Orleans show (3/17) will be promoted on WTUL, which is good. As for KTCU in Dallas, it's a Sunday night gig, and the guys will be getting to town from Austin where they play the night before, but there's an open invitation from KTCU to do something with them. Their e-mail is ktcu@tcu.edu. I'll let KTCU know a bit more about them, but if anyone who is "connected" with the band wants to contact KTCU to see what can be done, it could be some nice publicity for the band.
