TOPIC: The *NEW* Button Poll

Hey folks... you can see all of the buttons at this website:

The Features Button Art

Check them out and then vote, and make sure to specify which swirl or four color design you like if you choose one of those (the poll is restricted to 10 options).

What 1 inch button will you be wearing at the upcoming shows?

Will

I prefer the first 4-color one simply because the logo is easier to read. I think the most important thing here is that people can read the band name from a distance.

my vote was the same...the first four color design (digsy's) with the photgrapher running a close second. the new buffalo head one is nice as well.

Photographer's nice, but I prefer ones that feature actual photos of the Features, or at least have something to do with the names of their songs. I especially like the guitar one for many reasons, not least of which is it reminds me of the cover of My Bloody Valentine's Loveless.

I voted for the first four color one, as well.

I like all of them. Like ghostflower, I would be proud to wear any of those designs. The ones that really stood out to me are the Four Color ones. The Photographer, and the Guitar. Any kind of button to support The Features is just fine by me.

I think "The Photographer" looks cool, but we should be sure that we have the band's blessing before using it. That would be creating a whole new visual identity for them since they've never used a photographer (or that style) in any of their merchandising, record covers, website, etc.

What am I saying? All I have to do is create 20-30 new users and make them all vote for some other design. Then it won't matter!

Well the reason that I used the photographer picture for the button was because it was used by the band for their promotion of the Sept. 26th show. I thought of also using one of the female models from the Aug. 22nd show but I just...I didn't...um...well that's the origin of that

And I really really would like band comment. The band's choice overrides all the others.

My mistake... I haven't seen many of their posters lately so I didn't realize they had used the photographer. Carry on!

For what it's worth, I've always liked this picture of the band. Maybe someone more talented than me could use it as a button design.

Hmm that is a good idea, but I took the guitar angle with my guitar button I guess. If Wiyum feels up for doing it....

I thought about using that picture but...um...Parrish rocks and makes every show yes, but his old hair just frightens me. Like...if he was sporting his old toboggan in that pic I'd be down for making a button but...
Short hair Parrish is cool.

My vote was for the photographer button. I think it is simply adorable. However, I think a design with one of the poster girls could possibly rival the photographer button. I also love the stork design and the first four color button. The guitar design is enjoyable, but I'm not too sure how visible it would be on a button. Of course, the band should have the final say as to which button is used, if any.

That was actually why I did the logo as I did (though I suppose the font is a bit hard to read). The name needs to fill the whole length of the button, because the button is only one inch.

Agreed. Whatever button wins, the necessary adjustments can/will be made so that the button is flawless.

I like photographer, but it needs some "Dark Room" lyrics.

I stay away from the plain ones and the classic logo. The one from the t-shirt/avatar design is really neat.

As do most people I think. For me, it was the only bit of Features iconography that I had for 5 years. As a result, for me, it still has some sort of strong connection with the band, even though they probably disowned it before the end of 1997.
