I was looking on slsk for some features tracks, and I downloaded a song called 'Floozie of the Neighbourhood'.

Now this song sounds NOTHING like The Features that I know... was there a pre-features features?!! Or is this their 'old' sound?!

The old Features' sound still has identifiable Pelham vocals, and the current style albeit more whimsical than sincere. Guaranteed to be a fake.

About a year ago, richarddawson discovered another band called "The Features" from Austrailia. The song you mentioned could be one of theirs.
grass stains, airplanes, anything and everything

If I shut my eyes and squint a bit, the voice could *just* be Matt's. But I also have to make myself believe it too.

Thanks TF. This must be the other band...

i think there might be yet another: a late-70s, possibly punk (?) british 'the features' (discovered on ebay...their 45s go for a lot of $)... you know i'm always searching for rare features memorabilia on ebay; maybe one day i'll be able to buy rollum's toothbrush on there.

Actually "The Features" of Floozie of the Neighborhood fame is from Pittsburgh originallly and part of the NYC punk scene of the late 70's. The creepy thing is that Rory and I were researching them once and found an album online... the font they used and the layout for it looked exactly like a poster we were doing at the time. It's a pretty cool song BTW.

This must be it! It was extremely punk, which made me wonder!! They didn't sound Australian... you can usually tell from the accent tongue.gif

Interesting about City Scenes... that could pass as the features :/

Incidentally, the "original" Features were: Pelham, Dabbs, Don Sergio, Jason Taylor, and Mr. Yaw.
