Mine would be...

3.Leave It All Behind
4.See You Through

05 Don't Lie to Me
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Yes, the new songs are high on my list, especially "There's A Million Ways to Sing the Blues" and "The Way It's Meant to Be" and "Me and the Skirts" (well, all of them, I guess), but I just sit in awe while listening to the songs on my list.

I was starting to wonder when someone would bring this thread back. OK, it's a fav, and it's more relevant than just about anything we discuss on this board (esp. cover songs...)

At any rate, "Harder to Ignore" is in the top 5 for me now. "Idea" can go because the changes have made it a 2nd-rate song now. "Someway, Somehow" can replace "Moonlight" as well.

Many thanks. Thanks to Richard, as well.

I chose those songs because to me, they seem the most sing-alongy. Plus, they're always super-fun live. I was, however, singing "Buffalohead" all day yesterday. Not one of my favorites, but good nonetheless.

Sorry if this sounds a little old school for some of you, but:

1. Rabbit March
2. Roger's Theme
3. Jurley
4. Buffalo Head
5. Walk You Home

I must go on, five simply doesn't do it for me:

6. Treehouse Club
7. Burma
8. Demons
9. "After the argument we'll compare; the notes we've jotted down..." what's that one? God, I love that one. Off the first EP. You know, "the worst part of it is... jealousy." Maybe it's "That's Me". Hell if I know. Anyone?
10. Darkroom

Sorry for the extra five, especially being a newbie and all.

TTWIMTB
This topic needed to be brought up again.

My favorites are still prety much the same, except I think I'd switch out "See You Through" and bring in "Circus".
I'd like to personally invite all the new fans to include their lists.

Also, I'd like an update from the old fans. My list hasn't changed. Has yours?

My five, as a newbie:

1 - Karie-Ann
2 - Darkroom
3 - The Way It's Meant To Be
4 - See You Through
5 - Me and the Skirts

I'm interested in 'Exhibit A' though, as it sounded great when they played it in London recently... but I don't have a copy of it at all.
...and this ain't one of them...

Hey Lou
33 1/3
Kari-Ann/Leave It All Behind (can't decide)

Don't get me wrong, their current repertoire is grand, but I'm a sucker for the old stuff. It just had a much more whimsical, youthful sound to it that I really enjoy.

How do you get to hear all these tracks, Andy?!

Welcome to the only list to feature these tunes.

I do agree about the whimsical nature that is fun, but it isn't tops for me.

Oh, I'm just a newbie to the board, not to the band.

smile.gif

I was hooked up to the download site a while back, and have been a fan of various Spongebath artists for years.

I didn't download every track from there, sadly.

Oh, and I was choosing between "Me and the Skirts" and "D-Con (Radio One)" for the final track of my five.

It's almost time for the Features NCAA Tournament again. This thread has me asking who will go all the way. There have been very few new songs added since last year, making this one hinge on everyone's changing opinions on old songs....

Darkroom
The Beginning
Circus
Walk You Home
Armani Suede/Thursday/Exorcising Demons/The Way It's Meant to Be/Harder to Ignore

Basically, I cannot narrow it down to five choices. It gets tricky after the top four.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

I have been talking with several people about how often you see the word
"features" or how song titles/lyrics are mentioned in every day conversation. For example, I was presented with Exhibit A in jury duty today.

that's part of the beauty of the songwriting- that everyone is at once familiar and comfortable with the words pellham is using-- even though the lyrics in general may be vague at times we definitely each have our own concrete understandings of the phrases he uses and every fan connects with it and makes each song indelibly(sp) their own.

Too lazy to compare and contrast with old posts, so I'll start fresh again:

1. Harder to Ignore
2. Leave It All Behind
3. See You Through
4. The Beginning (Week One)
5. Darkroom

Other Favs: Demons, 33 and 1/3, That's the Way..., Circus, Exhibit A

I decided not to do the two for one that many others did. smile.gif

3-The Beginning (I never thought I would say that!!!)
4-That's the Way It's Meant to Be

Listening to the streams on the site, I must say, "Kari-Ann" is my Features song of the moment by far. I know the Mahaffey sessions are generally overproduced, but that extensive production really works with this song...it's something you can really imagine being a huge hit single. God, god, god I love this song. Those super-produced "My love, my love, my love, my love" BG vocals followed by that orchestral section is my favorite studio Features moment that I've heard yet.

I still think their best crop of songs to date were the ones recorded during those sessions. The production of them doesn't take away from their overall strength.
