Hello I'm new to all this but thought it might be a good way to get info on the band.

I saw The Features when they supported The Kings of Leon last year at Reading, Berkshire, England. To be honest I enjoyed them far more than The K of L, often the way with support bands!

Does any one know how I can find more info on their planned UK dates?

The priority for the band right now is probably recording their second album. Unfortunately, that means there's not likely to be any substantial touring for several months. This of course, is purely speculation.

Hi

Well that answers my question, how disappointing! Looks like I will have to make it over the the USA to see them, next year.............

Thank for posting replies.

Dolly,

I would speculate that a UK tour will be immediately in the works once the new album is released. They were well received in the UK and have such a solid fan base.

Basically, from what I know, The Features have 36 new songs that are written and now in the process of making some quality recordings of those to be placed on the new album. I will estimate by fall they should have the album out. They released Exhibit A in September of 2004, so how about September, 2006 for the new one. I hope so!

I don't have a joke, but hope that thought will cheer you up. Meanwhile come chat with us about The Features and you can go to my on line magazine site http://www.eclecticcuts.com and take a look at the pics and stories that feature The Features:)

I'll guess early 2007 at the absolute earliest.

I hope so, but (as YDDD has aluded) it took a full year to release Exhibit A after they had recorded it. However, would it be reasonable to assume that the process for releasing a second album could be a lot smoother than the first? I would think that record companies strategize more about introducing the world to their band than they would putting out a follow-up. I'm certainly no expert, though.

Maybe we should have a contest and guess at the actual next release date and see who the winner is eventually. They could be in The Features Fan Club Hall of Fame... aka the message board. Sounds like fun! Carl can give the winner a unique smiley icon beside their name. What do you think Carl?

My guess is 9-26-06.

It appears not. The recent news is gutting.
I wish the band all the best in finding a new home.

I think any kind of estimations of a release date are pretty pointless right now, we've just got to hope there is another record.
I'm sure they'll find a label that's good for them, if labels have any sense they'll be fighting over them.
As far as I'm concerned, Universal missed a serious trick with The Features. I don't think US mainstream success was ever on the cards, but I feel they could have really broken the UK with Exhibit A if there'd been any decent promotion.
