TOPIC: Upcoming shows

I'm thinking about coming down to TN for at least one of the shows coming up in the next couple of weeks (Knoxville and/or Nashville). Anybody here planning to go to either or both shows? (Silly question, I know.)

It's about a four-hour drive, so we'll need to stay overnight, plus get a dogsitter. So, two weeks in a row might be a bit too much.

Just wonder: If I had to pick one show, which is the better bet? I don't know either of the venues or any of the other bands playing.

Do any of y'all usually hang out or meet someplace beforehand? 'Twould be nice to meet some of you fine folks, find some decent food, etc.

i saw them at blue kats in knoxville last time--the sound was great & there was a great recpetion from the crowd. check out everyone's show reviews for full details.  as far as the nashville show venues are concerned, 12th & porter is cool, but they are the opening band that night, so the set might not be as long as usual. red rose is a coffee house, so rock shows don't really translate that well there.

If you have to choose between the 12th & Porter show and the Blue Cats show, definitely go to Blue Cats. Why?
a) they're headlining at BlueCats

I've just repeated smee's post. I am an idiot.

Go to Blue Kats, but I doubt many of us Features message board people will be there. Most of us are Nashvillians (or our retarded cousins to the East, Murfreesborans). I would assume Deevol and Exliontamer will be there though.

P.S. There is only enough room for one Keith here, dammit.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

my shows page still won't show up, dammit. am i to understand that the features are only the opening band at the next 12th and porter show? what the hell? i will just barely have enough time to get drunk.
i will recommend blue kats because i wanna go there too. but if you wanna meet board kids, you'll most likely see them here in nashville. i'm still calling a board meeting very soon, and i would really like to beat the shit out of neuboy and brianeno2 for their recent truancy.
oh, and i think there's room for as many keith's as we can fit on here.

so featuresgirl, with your myriad posts about matt, i think a frank discussion needs to occur over just which one of the features is the 'dreamiest' because it seems that all we talk about is their music, and we are clearly missing what is truly important about a band...which one is the hottie. who shall weigh in?

by the way, i think that gram parsons just joined the message board. may i just say that i am fan, sir.

Yes, most likely I will be at the Blue Cat's show, along with as many knoxvillians as I can gather. I would invite as many as would like to come up from nashville to join us. I would invite you to crash also, but the couch is already on reserve.

If you can't make it to knoxville, maybe check out the occaisional Features openers, My Tyger, at 12th and P.

Actually, Blue Cats, no apostrophe. Coincidentally, blucatslive.com has Left Foot Down, a mediocre jam band, listed as playing March 9th w/ TBA. I hope this is a misprint, the Features should not be forced to open for such a band.

My wife Melinda and I are coming to Knoxville next week. We snagged a half-price hotel room online, so we're staying at the Hilton Saturday night. Hope to see some of y'all there!

Is that the airport Hilton? If so, it may be a twenty to thirty minute drive to Blue Cats. (I don't know the part of K-Town in which Blue Cats can be found.)

Not sure. I don't really know Knoxville, but we're getting there early so we can find our way around.

Don't listen to Tom Foolery anyway. He has no idea what he's talking aboutl.

Blue Cats is located in the Old City, near downtown. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions about glorious Knoxville (Unless they're about it's history, this is only my fifth year here). Don't arrive too early, boredom strikes quickly in the city of the 'Nations #1 Party School!'.

i asked matt about the blue cats show after their set at 12th and porter- apparently there has been some kind of scheduling snafu and they will not be playing the 9th. it has been moved to the 28th or 30th- he really wasn't too clear on that matter. blue cats doesn't have it up on their web page either- they don't list that far in advance. so- knoxvillians will have to wait 3 more weeks. sucks to be us. hope khautala and wife can cancel their reservations.
