TOPIC: What's this song?

Man, I know that this has been discussed here before, but I'm too lazy right now to dig it up. Please bear with me.

I am in the process of getting some old mp3s off of my old computer and today came across a Features song that I don't think I've ever heard before. The file is labeled "the Features - Try" but on the mp3 player it comes up as "Immature Passage" by the Features. There are lyrics that suggest either could be the title. Does anyone know definitively what this song is? It's definitely by "our" Features, and not the 80s punk band Features or the shitty Australian Features.

JC, I know i've listened to that song before and I thought the title was weird too, but I can't remember for the life of me what song it actually was. This post brings up some good memories of the old mp3 site . . . If I had known it would be taken down I would have downloaded many many more than I had on my actual hard drive. sad.gif

I believe Wiyum knows the correct title, and I'm pretty sure neither is it. It's certainly not "Immature Passage"...

can you e-mail the file or type in some lyrics?

The first name I heard for the song was "Try." That's how it was labeled on my copy of of the Thunder 94 show during which it was performed. It was posted on khatula's MP3 site as "Immature Passage," but if you listen closely to the lyric, Pelham is actually singing "Immature bastards are ready to go." This makes "Immature Passage" an unlikely title.

I think it's title is actually "48." I'll try to dig up my reference of that.

Found it.

"Immature Bastards" isn't really a phrase that fits into the Features lyrical style. I'm not doubting your interpretation at all, I just think its kinda weird that Pelham would use that phrasology since "bastard" is prolly the most controversial word I've heard him use in a song.

I agree, Joey. However, The Features were a totally different band at that time, and Matt Pelham was a long way from the loving husband and father that we see today.

Let's just blame it on Don Sergio. He was always the rapscallion of the band. I'll assume he wrote that song.

I'm pretty sure that's a cover song. I have heard a different version of it by another band (don't remember which band).

Are you sure? A Google search for the lyric "immature bastards are ready to go" garners nothing, and a search for Wiyum's interpretation (link) only brings up Wiyum's site.

yes, i am pretty sure. I have heard it played multiple times on WMTS radio and I know it is not the Features. Maybe a WMTS dj can solve this.
