I had a nice surprise today.

went to turtle's music here in memphis, trying to talk my wife into buying me a cd for my birthday (today). the store was having a blowout sale on overstock used cd's. in the sale section, i found the first features ep! for $3.99!!!!!!!!!!! i'd been wanting this cd for years but it's so hard to find, as you all know all too well........

anyways, just wanted to share a little happy accident with the board.

happy birthday to me!

toodles,
phil

Wow, that is quite incredible. I've never actually held that CD in my hands...the fact that it wandered all the way to Memphis is amazing...

Happy birthday, Phil. I'm glad that you found the EP.

I have taken to doing what TF and YDDD do - I always buy up Spongebath products if I see them. Not that they're necesarily collector's items, but I want to make sure that they find good homes. That being said, I've never seen the Features EP out in the used bins, but I bought a still-wrapped copy on eBay for about ten bucks.

I would love to find the Spongebath samplers someday. I've never owned either one. Also, I really want Breakfast With Girls on vinyl.

I've thought about parting with this gem on numerous occasions, simply cause I know it would score me some cash. However, I'll probably hold on to it despite my lack of money and lack of turntable.

the stuff is easy to come by if you look hard enough. i've been able find multiple copies of various things all over town. there are very few Breakfast With Girls vinyls in print. jim at digital planet has been known to get in a few gems every now and then. gizmodgery has been known to sell for atleast 40 bucks on ebay. giving these gems good homes is a mission.

i imagine when the features become the best thing since sliced bread the self titled ep will be come more of a coveted peice of memorbillia. every artist has that one thing thats either hard to find or out of print.
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

also, one of the most amazing thrills in life is finding that hard to find out of print title waitng for you at a store. thats what makes record shopping so much fun.....

There's some quite rare Self stuff on eBay right now that I am too lazy or too cheap or too indifferent to buy. And JC, I too want the Spongebath samplers. I have burned copies of both of them. TF found #2 on ebay, which turns up once in a blue moon. I've never found #1. I'm soon going to be testing a new source. ph34r.gif

Hmmm...I think I feel another vote coming on.

Yes, there's lots of Spongebath gold on eBay. I've got several copies of some of the stuff. I doubt any of it will every be valuable, but I hate the idea of someone throwing it away.

If you're a Fluid Ounces fan (and you should be), former Ounce Trev Wooten is selling some American copies of Foreign Legion and some T-shirts.

Yeah, I bought my copy of #1 at the DitD show that I went to but narrowly missed The Features. I only have a burned #2, but I don't know how or where I'd ever be able to find a real one.

There are two versions of the spongebath sampler. If you go to the Audio part of the website you can see more about them.

There is one EP released on Spongebath.

There are also Spongebath Samplers, Volumes 1 & 2, which showcased all the bands on the label.

I'll also take this moment to say that I will probably never reach higher than number 4 on this board.

In other words, you're callin' me out, missy, but don't think I'll go down without a fight.

yup, that's the one. i also rounded out the evening by having cheesecake at the bookstar there, and renting the "incredible hulk" tv movies at blockbuster.

and you're right, that would've offended me a little....but then again, i'm easy to offend smile.gif

glad to see there are other features fans in memphis. if there were only some way to get them to play here again............?
