I'm keeping pictures of you in my head
I'm looking at them every chance I get
I'm developing a certain thing for you
Each and every night in my dark room

Some are color some are black and white
Your face is keeping me awake at night
Imagine you and me together like a team
Spending lots of time in my dark room

I've got a dirty mind
It takes control sometimes
When I lie down to sleep
It's creeping up on me

I like this song because it has no chorus. Unless you consider the riff the chorus. Yeah maybe that is the chorus.

OK the riff goes like this.. I don't know if I can write it in tab, so I'll try to explain it. I hate tab.

(This all takes place on the first 3 frets, use open strings, too. These are the notes, not chords):
(E string)F# G
(A string)Bb B
(D string)E F E D (all double picked)
(A string)Bb B Bb (all double picked)
Repeat that.

If you could figure that explanation out but couldn't figure it out on guitar, you maybe should be a code breaker, not a guitarist.

Anyway here are the chords:
G Bm Em D (then the riff) repeat that all through the verse

The last time it goes:
G Bm Em Am
G Bm Em D C
(then the riff)

Use your ear, figure it out. Good luck. Maybe I should stop writing out the chords cause these are probably very vague descriptions. Whatever.

To quote Mitch, "This song is so about masturbation."

is this right or is it:

Imagine you and me together like I do... I was trying to figure that out a long time ago but I had forgotten

I always sing "together like I do" but I was never convinced that it was the correct lyric. Since someone else also thinks this, it makes me wonder...

though pelham has and always will deny this fact, darkroom is definately about sliding one off.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

I agree. I sing, "Like I do," as well, guys.

"Do" rhymes with "room" more than "team" does. In fact, team doesn't rhyme with room at all, and I'm not sure how people are hearing this.

I hear a faint "T" sound where "do" supposedly is. This lead me to think it might have been "together like a two" or "together like a tool," neither of which make any sense. "Do" makes the most sense.

This discussion made me question my interpretation of the lyrics. So I listened to all eleven versions of the song that I have. I'm still convinced that he sings "Together like I do." Sometimes, though, his pronunciation is a weird kind of "T" / "D" sound so I can see Digsy's point.

I have always sung along saying "together like I do".

And I refuse to believe the masturbation thing.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?
