Jurley has many things
That she likes to do
Making pottery is
One of the Few

Jurley
Jurley
Where have you gone?
Jurley
Jurley
This is your song

One day she packed her bags
And moved away
Far away
Then she came back again
Made my day
Made my day

Jurley does many things
Very well
Jurley, I think you should know
You are swell

Jurley
Jurley
Where have you gone?
Jurley
Jurley
This is your song

I know I can't complain
'Cause she came back again
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!

Jurley has many things
That she likes to do
Making pottery is
One of the few

Jurley
Jurley
Where have you gone?
Jurley
Jurley
This is your song

*****

On a side note...This is definitely one of my favorites.

This alongside Serious are slowly becoming favorites of mine too. What are the chances of them being played...ever...

Of course there may be some surprises this Friday and next Thursday....

Serious still gets played... it was at 12th and Porter and Blue Cats.

Jurley... anyone know when last it reared its pretty, sing-songy head?

You may like grandma's yard gnomes, but I've seen Rock City. Remember it.

Serious...is almost always an encore nowadays. You sure won't hear it every show, but anytime they play an encore, there's a pretty good chance that Serious will be involved.

Jurley...the last time that I know of was 5-4-2001 at the Boro. A group of people were yelling for it the whole show. Finally, the Features gave in and played it. I think that Jurley is, for all intents and purposes, retired.

I've yelled for Jurley at many a show, and I usually get strange looks from the crowd. Ditto that for "Your Smile". They never play the things I ask for, but I've noticed that both the Features and Fl Oz for some reason can usually hear what Tom Foolery yells, and then they'll play it. I'm not so lucky.

Maybe we could get him to yell for "Jurley" or "Your Smile" at the show on Friday. Then we might have a better chance of them playing those songs.

Just use my sure-fire formula:

Orally servicing the band before the show = Get your favorite song played

You should all try it sometime.

Sounds like a good plan to me...

This is a fantastic song. I really hope I can see it (again?) live.

Something bothers me about the lyrics, though. Isn't it funny that this Jurley chick has MANY things she likes to do, but making pottery is one of the FEW? Isn't this song saying that she has both many and only a few things she likes to do? Or am I just missing the joke here?

I noticed that the very first time i heard the song. I figured that "few" was all he could think of that rhymes with "do." Fortunately, song lyrics don't have to be grammatically correct to be cool.
