I'm trying to figure out what model of guitar Matt is playing in the pics at the 40 Watt club in Atlanta. It appears to be a Cort but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

But it is a "Features Model." That makes it very cool.

I think it's awesome that Archibald only plays Moog keyboards. He's the coolest!

By the way, this topic seems very, very mean and sarcastic. Keep up the good work!

Meet The Deatures.... Scott, Larry, Archibald and Kenny.

Kenny, I believe plays washtub bass... I'm not sure what brand of washtub though... I heard he bought it off Emmit Otter at a garage sale... that would be sweet if it was true.

Yeah the chords are:

A, B7, H flat, J minor

And the lyrics in the bridge everyone was wondering about go like this:
We're gonna make fun of you
Yes you know it's true
We're gonna make fun of you
If you don't know as much as we do
Hey! Hey! Hey!
Woah woah woah

I don't know why some people thought he was saying "be nice be nice," those people are absolute retards.

Not only was the second harp unnecessary, but the rest of the guys felt really awkward when they would order their traditional pre-show meal of BBQ Pork....

A good song Carligula, but of the new ones my vote goes for "Exhibitionist Dave"

My all time favorite Deatures song would have to be "Flea Circus" followed closely by "Jackalope Head" and "Africanized Killer Bee""

Yeah, I've always noticed that the Deatures have some sort of fascination with animals. In fact, I've always thought they should have called themselves The Creatures (but I'm sure the name was already taken).

You forgot their most important animal song, though-- Some Brain, Some Cow. I think it's really admirable that they tackled the issue of the Mad Cow Disease scare of the late 1990s in such a way. I'll never look at hamburgers the same way...

They are true activists... "Dog Fancy" called them the U2 of the animal world in the December issue, the one previewing the Westminster. I believe Ch. McChips Chocolate Swirl Waiting On A Friend was on the cover. Of course, The Deatures endeared themselves to Dog Fancy with their ode to housebreaking "See Your Poop?"

Poop, poop poop, your pooping on my new floor/you better not poop in here anymorrrrrre/ pee, pee, pee, my carpets never gonna be the same/ that damn dog needs house trayayayaind/

Have we crossed the threshold of "Man, I need to get a life" yet? I sure hope not.

I do think Scott went too far with "Barkroom", which is essentially a song about masturbation and dogs. One can only step so far before they get kicked out of PETA and shunned by the animal kingdom. You would think somebody so tight with Michael Jackson would know the side-effects of being a little too "buddy-buddy" with animals.

so true, the deatures even remember the tiniest animals with songs like "bring on the mites." however, one cannot limit them to such a narrow subject matter. we can't forget their battle cry on the tax issue titled "stark white man encroaching." and their underrated anthem against cosmetic/unnecassary corrective surgery "god save scars 'n moles." the deatures are just so darn multifaceted!

I love to listen to the cds from their animal rights' days and all, but I love the biology tribute album. The Idea of Growing Mold is very uplifting with it's message that molds deserve safety in the enviroment as much as bald eagles, panda bears, and the like.

I've always liked their lighter stuff... like their tribute to their favorite ice cream bars, "Oh My Dove."

My favorite animal rights song, though, is "Buffalohead." Wait... um... nevermind.

I always thought that it was "Chew by Chew", and that it was about when their manager, Mongo, went to the gum factory.

That's not funny. Mongo's gum accident should never be discussed. Except perhaps in their moving tribute song to him and bubble gum, "Blow It Out."

"Blow it Out" is not a Deatures song. You must be thinking of 'Blow the Snout', about animal cpr.

"Blow the Snout" rocks.... but is it truly about porcine cpr? I think its a thinly veiled allusion to Scott's hostility toward Mohamed and his lack of "stick to-itiveness" I mean c'mon, what's a little BBQ now and then?

Hey, does anyone remember that brief period when the Deatures were heavy into experimental drugs and wrote a slew of ill-recieved songs about incest and bestiality? "Our Mommy Swayed" was one of my favorites, and it's a shame they never play it anymore. It always moved me, seeing as how it was about the true love triangle between scott, his mom, and their beagle, Wiggles.

This is worth lots of money. Made by Mosrite it was suppose to say The Ventures Model but the Deatures had it custom made. Unfortunately the guy who made the guitar assumed he was making it for some other band called "The Features" and labeled it appropriately. So this makes this guitar worth lots of money. Plus the American Red Cross is hoping to get their hands on it assuming they become so desperate for blood they need to somehow harvest the pint (at least) of blood caked on it.

Thanks for all of the guitar info as well as the off topic rambling as well. I found out that Mosrite has come and gone and come back over the years. New models can be purchased from:

I believe the Mosrite was made famous by the Ramones. Is that correct?

I noticed in an old Features photo (the black and white one with Jason and Don where they're holding instruments) that Matt had that guitar. I'm surprised that he hasn't moved on after all these years. There's nothing really spectacular about that guitar, except for the Features logo perhaps.

The Ventures were the band that made the guitars famous. Ricky Wilson from the B-52s played one too.
