I know a few people are having troubles uploading their avatars via their control panel. This was a problem neither Michael or I could solve. So the only solution at this time is to upload your pic to some sort of webspace (your own provided by your ISP, for example) and link to it from within the control panel.
Hopefully we'll stumble across a solution that makes this easier.
