A lot of times, being drunk makes me wonder what people think of getting drunk. I, for one, love it, but I know several people that have never or won't stand to.

So, what do y'all think of dringing alcohol for socal occasions or for getting drunk?

hmm, guess im first to vote...but yeah, i like a good old drink every now and again...its fun...and i know when to stop...but its not always good..i drink to have a laugh with mates etc etc...but their are people who drink because they are depressed or sad abotu something, and thats not always the best

Um... I voted "Yay!". I like to drink a moderate amount on select occassions. I think there's a real art to finding that perfect level of being pretty nicely buzzed and still being able to drive. j/k

Between messageboard posts, I've been very slowly writing my dissertation on alcohol effects on mouse brains. Ironically, all this writing about the relationship between addiction and stress has made me want to drink a lot more lately. Of course, going to a national conference for the Research Society on Alcoholism where all we did each night was drink beer didin't really help either.

I really like alcohol, especially red wine, but I have recently cut my drinking down to nearly nil for health reasons and am enjoying the mental alertness that goes with not drinking nights away, not to mention enjoying my mornings more.

Therefore, I answered that I enjoy a few drinks with a meal from time to time.

I am currently downing coffee - I just found this fantastic new Turkish blend - and diet coke like crazy. MMMMM....caffeine.

I quit drinking a little over a year ago... partly out of sympathy of my then prego wife, and partly out of a 3 day college reunion bender that left me hung over for week. HAven't had a drop since, and can't say I really miss it.
