yesterday, while looking for a movie in blockbuster me and my friend stumbled upon a movie called "american pimp" in the special intrests section. this is a documentary on real life pimps. its the funniest thing i have ever seen. yall HAVE to rent it. the pimp's names alone are hilarious. my favorite quote though would have to be when Bishop Don Magic Juan, i belive it was, when asked about why he didnt marry and he replied "it aint matrimony, it's mack-rimony!" sorry, just had to share.

Yes he is. And I find it ironic, since he is notorious for a song called "Cop Killer."

And yes, he did call himself a pimp on his VH1 Behind the Music.

I just want to take this opportunity to comment on what a plethora of knowledge jamiecarroll is. I always appreciate your insights.

I find it suspicious that you know so much about Ice-T. Are you a closet rap fan?

This movie does indeed rule! Someone turned me on to it about 2 years ago and I've been spreading the word ever since. Lately, I've been trying to find a time to expose Keith to it. Interestingly enough, I heard that this film started as just reasearch for a fictional movie about pimps, but it was so interesting, the Hughes bothers (famous for Menace II Society) decided to release it as a documentary.

My favorite line from Bishop Don Magic Juan is when he says:
"One day I got a call from one of the greatest pimps that ever lived... and his name was called Gaaawd". Then he went on to explain how he became a minister after this revelation. He also explained why he only wore green and gold: "Green for tha money and gooooold for tha honey". Quality.

Ice-T also released a documentary on pimpology-- I think it was an HBO special. It also featured BDMJ, but I've been told that it doesn't hold a candle to American Pimp.

I do enjoy rap music, when done properly, TF.

Okay, Keith, why don't you let everyone know what you thought of the movie? I'm sure one or two people here actually value your opinion.

Definitely worth a viewing. I wish I had a notepad to write down some of the quotes and valuable lessons learned in the film- most notably that God is the biggest pimp (peeyump) of them all. My favorties pimps were the guy who pimped in Hawaii and played golf on his days off, and the one (RJ or some other initials) who would beat his hos if they drank or did drugs, but then went on to liquer them up. I really can't do an adequite review, you just need to check it out if you haven't.

Do they give any advice on how to beat your ho's without leaving many marks? That's a problem that I continually face. I have to teach them a lesson and keep them in line, but if I'm mark them up too badly, I'm only "damaging the merchandise" and, thus, hurting my bottom line.

Charm is the pimp who originates from Hawaii and golfs with doctors and lawyers at least 4 times a week. He says with a name like Charm, he can't be that bad of a guy, right?

R.P. is the foul-mouthed pimp from New York, New York-- the city AND the state. He will beat his hos if he has to, but it's for their own good. He's taught them everything they know about life in general
