Does anyone know a good place to get an amp repaired? Thanks.

While on the topic of repairing stuff, my dad has a record player that acts weird, so he got another. I've talked him into giving me the old one if I can get it fixed. Can anyone here look at it or know anything that could fix it?

Sounds like it needs new ball-bearings... it's all ball bearings these days... maybe 10 weight... 11 maybe.

I know there's a repair service through Nashville Used Music. I'm sure most music stores have something. I would try by calling a few near you and let them direct you.

I think there's a place that deals in new and used record players next to Digital Planet, off the square in Murfreesboro. That's what the owner said, anyways. That guy never stops talking.
We'll miss you Mr. Hooper.

You might try Davidson Amp Repair. The guy's a little on the odd side, but he does good work. He put a new power supply in my old Ampeg SVT before I sold it to Ben. Six months have passed and it seems to work better than ever. Don't know how to contact him, but he usually has ads on the back page and want ads of the Scene.
You know you have problems, with both money and alcohol, when you find yourself shoving beers down your pants outside a Features show.

hah!

man... that guy. i think within going there once and looking at records for 5 minutes, and buying one he mentioned "this shop down the street that sells turntables and needles" like 4 or 5 times.

for the record, i have no idea where that shop is, nor do i know what it's called.

The Features usually use Todd Sharp at Nashville Amp Repair. I have used him too. This is in no way an official endorsement of him by the band. i'll give him an endorsement, but not a ringing one. He's very expensive and personally i'm not sure if he's worth it....I've also used Kenny at Nashville Used Music a few times and been very pleased. He's a bit cheaper and very honest, but you gotta call him consistently to remind him to get your work done!!

Your right about thatguy. He's freaks the hell out of me. ANd he's always there it seems like. I'd probably go in there more often if he'd just shut up. I think there might be a repair shop there as well
