Yep, a video is being made. It should be cool. The process is a long one for the animators, so there's no official release date yet. We'll let you know.

I can't wait to see the video. I was a little suspicious at first. . . thought it might be weird since it involves animation. But, now I'm positive it will be adorable. I'm excited.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

Just out of curiosity, when did they start work on this video? Why are they making a video for a song they released two years ago?
grass stains, airplanes, anything and everything

They started working on the video last month. The reason for doing this song? The EP is still the current official release out there for the Features and The Beginning is the title song. And there's places overseas that haven't had the joy of hearing that EP yet that this video might help with pushing.

Overseas? Whoah! I just know the Italians are going to love Rollum..and I bet Scottish people will go ape over Parrish...and the Spaniards? They are going to be drooling over Roger. And, of course, British Babes of all shapes and sizes will have a thang for Matt. Features Imperialism!

It's 3D animation - so don't think "cartoon" exactly.. but it will be alot of fun and I think it's a pretty innovative idea.

Oh, and the crazy glasses Parrish is seen in are going to be used to reflect the digital set in his glasses.. he wasn't just being uber-80's. Though, I would appreciate it either way.

is there any possible way we can get a ballpark estimate on the video's release? I mean are we talking spring, summer, fall, WINTER?#?$

also, flyingfeaturesfan had a good question, how are we going to see this video, BESIDES on the website.

I think we now have a garden of carrots

well, I'm sure that the video isn't going to be cheap if its animated, and so I can't imagine that it would only be shown on this site. I honestly believe that within the next year... MAYBE two, the Features will be makin it big time. Of course, part of this makes me happy, but that will most likely mean less tn concerts and more $$$ for the few we get. Although the cash doesn't bother me nearly as much as the lack of local concerts. i've had a hard enough time making it through the short drought we are going through now.

The video's initial use will be in conjunction with the promotion of The Beginning EP and that probably would never reach your eyes. But we do plan on "airing" it here on the site once it's finished.

When iit'll be completed is up in the air. It takes a long time to do this sort of thing. We'll let you know when it's nearing completion.

I saw part of it today and it was INCREDIBLE. Some of the most fun in a video that I've seen in a long time. Man, I wish you coulda seen it.. so amazing. I mean.... I just can't describe it. I am overcome with unbridled enthusiasm.

Okay, I didn't see anything. I just thought more webmaster teasing was called for.

You mean The Features would put forth time and effort to produce something, become disenchanted with it, and thus shelve the whole thing? That's ridiculous.

It's really funny this topic should come up. Back when the White Stripes were coming into town I ended up with 2 extra tickets. Naturally, I put them up for sale on the best www site in the world (aside from this one of course). After the show had been cancelled, and refunds were given out, me and the buyer exchanged contact info once again so I could return the money he spent for the tickets. Planning on burning him a mix tape, I asked him if he had heard of the features. Turns out he's the one doing the animation. For some reason it made my day. Of course this was all a few months back, but he made it sound like things were coming along slowly but surely. He did mention however, that he was working on it during his freetime and so perhaps thats the reason it has taken so long. I had meant to post this at the time, but it seemed rather unimportant and I wasn't too sure anyone would even care. I'm sure Brian W has much better info on this...

He does. I will say that I saw a few rough clips and I was blown away. I was really, really excited aboout seeing the finished product, but alas... that was about 3 months ago. Of course, being a long-time Features fan, I've stopped letting myself get overly excited about releases until they're are actually released.
