TOPIC: Any dream interpretors out there?

I've had this dream for the last three nights and its really starting to get to me.

I'm driving down an interstate with my wife, two extremely long cobras side by side pass us at a very high rate of speed. The one in the "passenger side" looks at me before speeding off.

We get of the interstate and onto a road along a calm river where we see a flock of falcons pecking and poking at these cobras. We slow up and pass the scene, I'm slightly curious as to what happened to the cobras. As soon as we pass they jump up and fight off the falcons, and dive into the river. On the opposite bank, a train is coming head on at a high rate of speed. The cobras leap out of the water and pull the train in the water. As the train starts to derail I can see the cobras attacking the engineer.

As the train continues to fall into the river I see a brakeman in the caboose start to bail out as the other cobra goes for him. At that second a huge wave crashes over the road and throws us high into the air, I get out and look around while still in the air. I can't find my wife, but don't feel any panic. I look down into the water and see the cobras wrestling with the men, and I dive straight for them. As soon as I hit the water and go under a few feet with the cobra in my arms I wake up.

Now here's the weird part. When I wake up, I have put a towel over the TV in a triangular fashion over the screen. ALL THREE NIGHTS!!!

This is really starting to get to me? Smartass answer will be entertained, but I'm seriously looking at some interpretaions... A little background as to what's going on in Peace Frog land right now:

I'm about to purchase some pretty expensive equipment, and I'm in negotiations for two very large projects.

Water normally represents females. Snakes (and probably trains) are obviously phallic symbols (that means shlongs).

As a Fruedian, though, I'm pretty sure this means you want to have sex with your mother.

Wait wait, so just after you wake up from the dream, you put the towel on the TV subsonsciously then go back to sleep, or what?

From the Dream Doctor

Snakes:
Archetypal symbol of the life force, strongly associated with psychological growth and healing. Because snakes shed their skin, ancients believed they never died, and held the key to eternal life. In yogic practices the serpent energy (kundalini) lays coiled at the base of the spine, rising through the chakras (subtle energy centers of the body), with growth and spiritual development.

Owing to Biblical teachings, snakes also can represent deception, betrayal, and temptation—and people who speak with “a forked tongue.” (Liars.) Fears of being bitten by a snake (or snakes), reflect fears of emotional injury or attack in waking life. Snakes may function as phallic symbols due to their shape. Caring for a snake in a dream indicates a positive relationship with creative energy.

Water:
Universal symbol for emotions. How water behaves in a dream always is significant. Rising water indicates rising emotions. Turbulent, choppy waters, in which a dreamer fears being swamped or drowning, symbolizes being overwhelmed emotionally. Tidal waves may symbolize specific threats that “loom in the distance.” Being caught in a swift moving current suggests being “swept up” in one’s emotions. Cloudy water suggests lack of emotional clarity, and fears of emotional contamination. Swimming or bathing peacefully in water symbolizes a comfortable immersion in one’s emotions. The ability to breathe underwater indicates accessibility to unconscious feelings and awarenesses.

Trains:
Trains signify attempts to reach significant destinations in our lives—such as career or romantic goals. Do we arrive successfully? Train wrecks and mechanical failures indicate doubts about our ability to achieve a goal. Trains “jumping the track” reflect feelings that one is headed in the wrong direction, or that one has deviated from the intended path. Watching a loved one or family member depart on a train symbolizes feelings of separation.

Birds:
Birds in dreams are associated with freedom, and with hopes, dreams, and plans for the future “taking flight.” If a bird is caged it suggests a desire for freedom that is constrained or feels trapped. Dead birds falling from the sky can symbolize the end of a hope or dream, or the passing of an illusion. Vultures in dreams are associated with themes of death and rebirth. Eagles are associated with perspective—the ability to see a great distance.

Cars:
Common symbol of the self, the “the direction we are headed in our lives.” A more immediate symbol than planes and trains and ships (which indicate larger concerns and transitions) due to its ubiquity in everyday living. Dreams of brake failure and difficulty steering are common metaphors for feelings of being out of control, emotionally, in our lives.

Difficulty “seeing the road ahead” indicates uncertainty about the future. Being a passenger instead of a driver indicates someone else is “steering your life.” (Can you identify the influence?) New cars are associated with new jobs, new relationship status (marriage, pregnancy, new role as mother, father) and new projects. Flat tires and cars with mechanical problems reflect depression, and a need to revitalize the physical body.

Dreams of car accidents, as a rule, should not be considered literally precognitive. They are reflections of emotional “loss of control,” however, which causes excessive behaviors and erratic decisions in waking life.

So, birds (hopes and dreams) were eating the snakes (psychological growth/healing). The snakes escape, but cause two separate events (a car crash and train wreck) representing loss of control or things in your life going in the wrong direction. And everyone ends up in a somewhat turbulent river (emotion).

Sounds heavy. Obviously you're really concerned about your career. I'm sure you'll get through it, though. Hang in there, dude!

I had a dream last night that a girl in a band-- who most of us know-- was making out with me, but right before we stopped, quite a bit of her saliva ended up in my mouth (and not in a good way). I think I started bragging to people about my conquest briefly until I woke up.

Any thoughts?
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

I have a thought-- you're obviously gay. But that's not news to any of us.

So, was it Andrea, Beth, or Serai? Was it one of them "special" dreams?

I'll need to know what this will be and, pending interpretation, I might have to hold on to it for awhile.

How funny that dreams should come up. My dreams have been so incredibly vivid and strange lately, that today I decided to buy a notebook to start writing them down when I wake up. I know that probably sounds stupid, but I'm pretty excited about it.

The other night I dreamed that I went into some restaurant and this guy that I haven't seen in years, Brandon Coffee, was working there. I was with a few other people, and I was talking to them, so it took me a few minutes to get around to saying hi to Brandon. By the time I made my way over to him to say hi, he was crying. He was so offended and hurt that I had been "ignoring" him. He was weeping and refused to speak to me. After my party and I had finished dining and were leaving, Brandon and the rest of the restaurant staff followed me out of the restaurant and said they were going to beat me up for being so rude. So I ran from them. When I woke up, I was still running.

Here's what an amatuer dream interp said on a dream discussion board...

From the dream dic...
Cobra - creation and creative energies

Snake - hidden fears or worries. can also mean positive change

two- partnership

Train - conformity and going along with everyone else.

falcon - success, possible jealousy because of it

calm flowing river - time to take a decisive hand in directing your life.

Wow. This is loaded.

Alongside the river, your life's direction. You see two falcons, success, poking at two cobras, creative energies. These cobras *creative energies* fight off the falcons *success* and dive into the river *life* A train is coming *conformity* and the cobras *creativity* pull it into the river *life*.

Okay, when I do this I remind people that I don't know them, I'm anything but all-knowing, not a pro, and this could be way off the bat. It looks like you need to let your creative energies go, and not bend to the will of others. I know nothing of these projects, are they things you have any doubts about? Are you thinking more about the promise of success than what may be in your heart to create? Either way, it looks like your wife will stick by you. <G> Especially since your *creativity* took hold of her and you weren't afraid...

The falcons also represent jealousy, so it's important not to let outside influences disuade you from your goal.

Good Luck!

JC,

Yours seems to be a manifestation of the ol' naked dream. Public humiliation. Maybe Brandon Coffee represents some portion of your past that you feel you have let down or wavered from your core beliefs?

Or as Carl would say... you want to sleep with your mother.

It is clear to me that whatever it is you intend to buy, you are in denial about it... you'll have to send it up to Evanston upon receipt... understand that you should make this purchase, I just need to hold on to these thing until you're ready to have them...

Seriously, whatchu buying? For some reason I'm seeing something like a Symphony or a 35 cam.

The Towel over the TV part has not been addressed....

That's the spooky thing if you ask me.

Yeah the towel thing was kooky... the last night I had that dream... I vaguely remember putting the towel on the TV and then watching TV.... but yet it felt very dreamlike, almost like I was lucid dreaming or semi-conscious... I have been known to sleepwalk in the past, but its been about ten years. During finals week in December of 91 I woke up in my bathrobe and aquasocks (remember them?) sitting on a park bench in the quad in 6 inches of snow. I asked the security guard while the hell he let me out of the dorm and he said I very convincingly told him I had to run to the car to feed my gopher...
