I'll be there. What time do we think Character will start? It is a Sunday. I still bet not till 10.

I think I heard "rock with your cock out" about six too many times from someone in the crowd. When the guitarist responded with "this is our cocks" (referencing his guitar) I think something inside of me died. I think that might have been my will to remain at the show.

I went. AiS were pretty good, I'd say. Not great, but pretty good. I thought that Character was especially great. "Quality" is such a great great song, Character.

I really wish I could have gone, but my Sunday night was spent like a true lame-ass (watching "The Music Man" and studying for 13 near-solid hours for a history test). I suck, but that's something that many board members have already stated biggrin.gif

Character was very good. I must say a lot better than Apples, in my opinion.

I loved the show. I fucking loved Character. I thought Apples were really good. I was happy that they played "motorcar", which is one of my favorite apples in stereo songs.....i hated the guy who kept screaming "rock out with your cock out". he would just point at a person in the band until they looked at him.......sad

I really enjoyed the show. I had seen character once before and thought that they were ok, but this time I thought they were great. Color me impressed. The highlights of the Apples in Stereo for me were the Rainbow, their cover of Heroes and Villians, and when they showed us the "greatest hand shake ever."

I think I was the only one that wasn't overly impressed by Character. I'm thinking Geddy Lee...early Elton John maybe...a dash of Elvis Costello. I guess my main complaint was that the songs were too homogenous. A few stood out, and were well constructed, but overall they were just a bit too similar.

I remarked to Ray Davies during the show that the singer for the second band was too Geddy Lee for me. I got excited right before they started because he mentioned Harold and Maude. Too bad the song which he had written about the wonderful movie pretty much sucked, in my opinion. His little tribute to Joe Strummer song was pretty bad, too. Plus, he and his little partner were kind of goofy looking. I don't know, I may have actually enjoyed the music if it weren't for his voice.

Character was very enjoyable.

I think Apples in Stereo put on a very good show. And they all just looked so happy, like they were actually enjoying what they were doing. That always makes me like a band more. All in all, I had a good time.

And yes, I wanted to slap the little Indian guy yelling "rock out with your cock out". He and his stupid pointing. rolleyes.gif

I'm thinking you're mistaken as to which act was Character, somethingman. They were the first band that played. The instrumental one.

I think you're talking about the pretty un-spectacular second band.

Yes, I assume that he is confusing the two acts, jamiecarrol. I don't even remember the second act's name exactly. Something with "rhyme" (and probably with a cleverly mispelled version of the word) in it?

I thought it was Oranger.

Character was so much better than the time I saw them at the Red Rose in November. I think I liked them better this time because I was not expecting vocals (I was the first time). I also think they rocked out waaaayy more than they did at my previous Character experience. They were very, very good.

The "best handshake ever" was very excellent.

The Mighty Rime needs to rent Revenge of the Nerds and buy a Clem Snide album. Then they might see how to really acheive what they're aiming for with their music.

Agreed. I have a live Olivia Tremor Control CD, but it ends with this pretty cool Heroes & Villains/ Little Pad track. I don't know when it's from or why it's tacked onto that show.

I love Character. I wish they'd retire "In 9" though.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

This is probably blasphemous and a conflict of interest, but the only Character song I can say that I'd like to see retired is Gatone (it's ok because neuboy didn't write it). It brings out the hippie dancing.
