Ditto for me. I still kick myself for passing up an opportunity to see Beck at the Ryman in 1996.

It may not be with Beck, but the Lips' 2 stops in Nashville in 2000 make me think we'll see them before Christmas on Mars comes out.

I saw the Lips at 328 in 2000. Was their other show at Uptown Mix or something? I'm also proud to say that I saw them and Failure open for Tool in the mid 90s at 328. Both performances were extremely good in very different ways.

I'm also pumped about this tour, while still pessimistic about a Nashville date. It'll be worth the drive if they come close. Beck's new album is supposed to kinda folksy-- much like Mutations. That's fine with me.

awesome! i was at the tool/lips/failure show also. wasn't that the strangest combination ever. most people went into hiding when the lips came on. they went and hung out in the lounge

the new beck sounds awesome i can't wait for it to come out

I really like Beck a lot and I think that I'm in the minority when I say that "Midnite Vultures" is my favorite Beck album. It is solid all the way through. I would have loved to have seen Beck when he toured for that album. If the Lips/Beck combo gets near Nashville I will go.

"Midnite Vultures" is "okay", it's more of a joke album to me. I like "Mutations" and "Odelay" better. (Before anyone decides to lynch me for not liking "Midnite Vultures", you must consider the fact that an "okay" Beck album is still better than most artists greatest album). Beck is one of the most stellar artists around today. Everyone one of his albums gets good reviews and is well recieved by the public. I can only hope that Beck/Lips will come to Nashville, but that's probably not going to happen.

"Hollywood Feaks" and "Debra" are two of the funniest songs ever recorded. Beck is awesome and I still need to listen to all of "Odelay" and "Mutations." I also need to listen to "One Foot In the Grave." So many CDs so little time...

If you're in the minority (and I think you are) than I am too. I love Midnite Vultures. Immediately upon finishing my last exam every quarter, I return to my abode and crank that album as loudly as possible and we have a dance party of sorts. A tradition that I refuse to let die (not that anyone is trying to kill it).

Debra is simply brilliant.

I'm definitely in the minority here, but I think that Stereopathetic Soulmanure is simply brilliant. Add it to your list of Beck that you must hear.

My junior year of high school, "Midnite Vultures" was my group of friend's album. We played it in the car all the time because we could all agree on it. I mean, what other CD has robots having sex, a request for a threesome with a JCPenny's worker, and rhymes "Old Navy" with "he wish he was a lady"?

And the Disc Exchange in Knoxville has Stereopathic Soulmanure on vinyl...I might purchase.
