TOPIC: Ben Folds Sighting

On the way to the Belcourt tonight to see Stop Making Sense (thoroughly enjoyed it by the way) we were pulling into the parking garage across the street from Guido's and who is walking in front of our vehicle...but Ben Folds. We immediately parked and peered over the little seperator-thingy and saw him get in his car and drive off. Wow. Random. Of course the only thing I could think of was "HE HAS MET ZACH {galifianakis]" so it's probably a good thing we didn't speak to him.

Random. If anyone else sees Ben Folds, share...

Well I too can second the Ben Folds sighting... he was walking across the parking garage and my boyfriend jokingly says "MOve it BEn Folds" thinking it was a look alike and like a train wreck it hits us. That IS Ben Folds so then we peer over the wall, watch him get in his car and try to start it. At first it doesn't turn over and I was hoping to jump his car off but it was a high class machine and it started and he rode off into the Nashville sunset.

Fun times... and Stop Making Sense does rule!

He lived here a few years ago too, I think he was friends (maybe roomates) with members of Fleming and John.

The last time I saw Ben Folds was when I was stalking his house. More importantly, benfolds.com says the live album comes out Oct 8!! And tracks will be on the website starting next week! This is the same release date as the new Apples in Stereo record- what a great day!

I've seen Ben a couple of times at Fido's and last week at 12th & Porter. Supposedly he just bought a house here and is recording as well.

I just read more & fall tour dates have also been announced. The closest one is Lexington, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did a warmup in his new hometown. On the bizarre tip- swear to god I had a dream about a BF show a few months back & he was playing solo in this college auditorium. Now it seems most of the tour dates are at colleges. Freaky.
