I was into BMX, but more into freestyle.  I had a Dyno Detour with mag wheels, front and back pegs, and a Gyro thingy that allowed you to spin the handlebars around.  I used to go to shows with halfpipes and stuff (to watch, not to compete).
I also used to have a shitty beat-up Redline. I last went to a BMX track in 1994 or so.  It was near Percy Priest dam.  It was at a park that also had mountain biking trails.  It was an okay track, but I don't remember what it was called.

I used to subscribe to both 'BMX Plus' and 'American Freestyle'.

I had a freestyle bike too. It was made by Redline, who I think did mostly racing bikes, but mine was definately freestyle: pegs, platforms, locking brakes, gyro, etc. It went away when I moved to hilly Tennesee in 1990. I always wanted a Haro, they kicked ass.

oh yes I love that song

Old Neighborhood

Hey, just park this car baby, let me out
Seein' little babies there make me wanna shout
Oh, they're just sittin' there playin' after school ball
With dreams so big, little hands so small
Lawd, we just stoppin' at the old neighborhood
Big brother and sister been my friends before
I'm just a little punk, I never knew the score
I steal your money, take your records, too
And even when you're out there outside, I'm still learnin' from you
Lawd, just memories from the old neighborhood
Lawd, chicken, breaded bought
Aw, licorice, too, black and red, boy
No, I never could understand a word that man said
Oh, just memories from the old neighborhood
Some folks, they come, and some stay
Some babies come along, some cats go astray
Lawd, the radio burns all night, I remember, leanin' (lead)
snow in the streetlight
Aw, just lookin' at the ol' neighborhood

i actually had a haro group 1a. that's a bmx bike, not a freestyle. i always wanted an elf bike. they were around $400-$500 just for a frame and fork.
